People, what do we think? This, or the RFK stadium version? I give the edge (lmao) to the RFK version.

love the bass line and tin whistle, poignant & Larry's drums building up to the crescendo - Bono in full reach in search of his loss. Powerful stuff!

This is gold, and now bookmarked. Roughly two years before they filmed Red Rocks in the Denver suburbs... arguably, Red Rocks was the first tipping point that moved their trajectory significantly upward. I'd say Red Rocks, Live Aid, Pride and then the Joshua Tree were the big vaults upward pre A/B.... it's been a helluva ride for many of us.

This album came from nowhere. Talking about changing your sound. And then they did it coming off "war." Everybody was expectating a progressive continuation of their sound, and then they produce TUF. It might be my favorite.

It's interesting that we hear about the genesis of "I Fall Down" here from Bono: It was written while the band was touring America, sometime between March and May 1981. Also, Bono calls it "When I Fall Down" here (evidently the original title), and the lyrics are substantially different here from the recorded version. So the lyrics must have been revised sometime between this time (mid-May 1981) and October, when the album October was released that year.
