That's awesome. You might want to check your tail light seals too. They are another place that leaks.

Didn’t know about the tail lights, I don’t know anything about that will have to have my dad take a look. Thank you. Can I ask you on the drain hose does the actual hose stick out at all under the car or is it just a hole there. Asking because my leakage was only on one side & the street I live on where I have to park my car has an incline down to a street drain so a lot of water rushes thru when it’s heavy raining. There appeared to be mud clogging the drain hole and some mud around it. I was curious if it could be getting up in there or maybe it’s just from that side being under tree limbs

@loulou5069 it does not drain to the ground. It drains into an area then out of a pinch weld. Parking under trees will clog it though.

If I would have found the leak the first time, yes, but it got wet again and again before I found it. I had to replace the relays inside the battery container.

@@CousinCleatus Alright. 08 hihy is at 144k and was planning to replace them but my autoshop charged $1900 to do it. Not sure if it normal or overpriced. They also found cracks on both control arm bushings. They charge me $2700 to replace them which i don’t think i will

@Karma-qp3lx about going rate on timing chain and water pump. The control arms on these are expensive, because you have to drop the A-frame to change them. I wouldn't change them unless they were bad though.

You can order a blue driver code reader on Amazon for less than $100. It probably won't reset on its own. Also, later I found the water was coming in from the taillights, it was rolling forward. I just put clear silicone on the seal for the taillights.

@stillridin9600 usually a ground issues on the early 2000s chevys. I just fixed a 04 silverado that had a draw, replaced starter, alternator and battery, just to find it was the ground from the block to the firewall. It looked good, but when I grab it to see if it was tight, it broke.

There is a seal around the tail lights in the rear that goes bad. It let's water in and it rolls forward into the rear floor boards. If you rear floors are wet, I bet the tail lights are to blame. You can just put a thin line of clear silicone, no need to replace the taillights.
