My recollection is that this was Natalie's first solo performance after announcing she was leaving 10,000 Maniacs. Fantastic concert that included Buffalo Tom and Belly.

"I don't remember the words". LOL. Even so, pure perfection. We all adore you immensely Natalie. This Avatar is our first meeting April 8, 1999. Eleven years prior to the very day my son was born and my daughter named Natalie-Anne in her honor. Everyone MUST see the Mermaid Avenue documentary Man in the Sand of Billy attempting to conduct an interview while Natalie picks at his eyebrows and eats imaginary fleas! Hahaha! Epic Natalie. "Stop it, I am trying to talk and be filmed. It will be on BBC2 and you will be eating fleas off me eyebrows. Think about it, you are not at home now. BEHAVE!" Oh what a marvelous friendship. Keep up the great work Miss Merchant! kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5PVoY14n651prc

Is this the Marty Grimes that went to UCSB. If so, contact the Native American Indian who allowed you to stay at the El Encanto, because you arrived in Santa Barbara too early and had no place to stay before school was to begin. If so, contact the Indian at [email protected]

The GOP and our current political system could use good people like Nelson Rockefeller, John Chafee, Edward Brooke, Jacob Javits, Margaret Chase Smith, Millicent Fenwick, Nancy Landon, Mark Hatfield, Tom McCall, Robert Stafford, Charles Mathias, Silvio Conte, Everett Dirksen, Howard Baker, Chuck Percy and yes even Barry Goldwater again because we have way too many idiots in our political system.

I'm a fairly conservative Republican (and an ardent conservationist), but I completely agree with this statement. Both my party and the Democrats need more ideological diversity, but with partisan sorting that's unlikely. Still, one may hope... Thanks.

Karl S. Yeah we can only hope. Yeah people might have not agreed on everything back then but at least work got done and everybody went home. Now?? Nothing positive gets passed.

I remember seeing Harry Milkee at a small club in the western reaches of Ft Lauderdale around 1983-84. I just heard a song that reminded me of Harry......Elvis singing "I'm all shook up". Harry did a parody except he changed "shook" to the "F'" word!! Hilarious!!!

What is the name of the song that follows "Summertime"? It sounds like a English Folk Tune.
@portcullis56229 жыл бұрын
+Will Benshoof The song is called ''Bread and Circuses'-written by Natalie Merchant and Billy Bragg. It was a 'B side' to one of his singles in 1990 and it later appeared on the 2005 'Natalie Merchant Retrospective' double album.

Beautiful American, Natalie Merchant, then age 27, and charismatic English, Billy Bragg, age 33, performed live this medley, in 1990 or something. "Summertime".....
