I consider your channel an "aggregator" channel. It's why I subscribed. It's the same reason I have maintained a social media presence, NOT Facebook, to maintain a platform that I can set up kind of like the still used RSS feed technology. A platform that I can check into from time to time to see what has been posted in the area of my interests. As I have commented before, you're on to a great idea here... as the Expat thing is blowing up right now. I suspect that if you continue putting in the time on this... you're going to grow this channel over time for sure. I have listened to others who have their own channels and it seems that if an idea is worthy, it simply takes consistent dedication to it and it eventually catches on-on youtube. I look forward to your future reviews... for me, it will be interesting to see who you pick to review, as I have followed many of them over the last 10 years or so.

Yeah... great video. These two have consistently been very informative. My initial thoughts on this are: Many others like Nomad Capitalist have suggested this Slow Travel approach for years. It's a good strategy if you're able and willing. As they were talking, I worked out that it could be a good strategy to map out your travels, following the sun as suggested, by regions of the globe. For example, when you want to travel western Europe, establish that region as your "home base" and then you can hop around easily in that region and during the warmer months. Then when winter arrives, stay and experience a good winter time, then move on, again chasing the sun, to another region and once again establish that new region has your new home base and hop around yet again. For example, if your next destination became South East Asia. Sounds like a solid strategy, these two are putting forward... will be looking forward to their next video on this... be sure to review that one Expat Review.

@ there are many issues within the Philippines, as with any country. I do feel your pain about the things that could easily be changed for the better though. I know that if more people felt as you do, they might be able to begin making and facilitating these changes. Starting off with neighborhoods, barangays electing Captains to administer localized cleanups and things. Changes happen when you bring people onboard and work towards change. But that is hard, when this is all they know.

@@bluewolf4789 If we use that logic, Thailand food should be sweeter than Filipino food since Thailand sits at Top 10 largest sugar producers in the world. But Thai food isn't sweeter than Filipino food. Compare the dishes between Thailand and Philippines, you will find that Filipino cuisine is more fatty, oily, sugary, salty, using less fruit and vegetables. This is also always the complaint by foreign tourists if you see travel vlogs, especially vegan/vegetarians. Philippine's has both obesity problem due to obsession of fast food to those who can afford it, and malnutrition problem among those who can't afford, due to either no food to eat or there is food to eat but being lower quality when it comes to nutrition. Malnutrition isn't only lack of food but also lack of high quality ingredients packed with a variety of nutrients such as vitamins and minerals and not just sugar, carbs, and fat. Example, only eating white rice and fried meat is less nutritious compared to someone eating kamote and leafy greens for breakfast. Also compare some known brands like Milo and their nutritional facts in different countries, you will find that a lot of the Filipino counterparts (not all) have higher sugar content per serving.

How about "Why are so many Americans Staying in the Philippines?" Leaving any country that your an expat to is no big deal, you try it, either you like it or you leave, also you can be an expat in many different countries, you can try and move on, no shame in that. Also, never watch that Jasper dude, not to my liking at all, just his opinion and everyone has one, most are different than his. Yes many old men are grumpy, big deal, I'm grumpy back in the USA and actually less grumpy here in the Philippines, but I get annoyed at stupidity everywhere. The Philippines is not 3rd world, it is 2nd world just on a lower tier. There are place where there are no power problems in the Philippines, and then there are place with the lovely beaches like Siargao that had no power for 13 days. Last year when I was staying in the Philippines, my son was without power for 5 days in the USA following a wind storm, it can happen anywhere. Look at Texas where people froze to death in Texas because demand exceeded capacity during a cold snap.

The world is becoming a smaller place, but it sure as a lot of choices. Having lived globally for the last 14 years as an American expat, I would say the "Best Places to move abroad" are the ones that speak to your heart and soul. What I mean is, you have to go to places you think you are going to like and stay for as long as you can/need to get a feel for the place. As has been mentioned in other The Expat Review videos, there are a myriad of considerations, like language, VISA options, climate etc. The only other top consideration, beyond falling in love with a place culturally, is of course your finances. How much can you afford? Most VISA options require money, do your research, do your due diligence on this one; maintaining your lawful immigration status can be a real hassle.

I spent a week in Manila and surrounding suburbs back in 2011. I pretty much found it very similar to Bangkok, with notable cultural exceptions of course. Back then, the infrastructure was a bit behind Bangkok. Other than the food, the other very noticeable difference was the pollution everywhere. The waterways were incredibly filthy as I recall. In my opinion,, the fact that Thailand has retained its rich cultural history by not succumbing to imperialism, as so many countries have, is the reason Thailand has a more robust tourism sector, thus better infrastructure. King Bhumibol Adulyade's reign of 50 years (correction 70 years), who died about 7 years ago, did some amazing things for Thailand.

@@TheExpatReview I'm at the George Carlin stage of life... lol. As you may have gathered in my OP, I'm a bit cynical now towards my fellow countrymen. I've found real joy stepping out of the American bubble. It's a real disappointment to learn the Truth of, the history of, American hegemony on this planet. I've also lived in the United Arab Emirates - 2 years in Dubai and Abu Dhabi - 3 years in Kurdistan, Iraq, and 4 years in Ukraine. No... never been in miliary... I'm not much of an order follower. Took my Paramedic skills globally back in 2010, it's been a wild ride.

FOR ME, YOU CANNOT PAY ME ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY TO GO BACK IN PHILIPPINES EVEN THOUGH I WAS BORN THERE. THERE ARE MANY REASONS WHY. I DONT LIKE THEIR GREASY FOOD, I ONLY SEE THEM AS MONEY HUNGRY PEOPLE ESPECIALLY THE WOMEN., I DONT SEE TOO MANY NICE PLACES TO GO TO., THE TRAFFIC AND AIR POLLUTION ARE HORRIBLE, THE GOVERNMENT SUCKS, THEY ONLY SEES YOU LIKE A DOLLAR SIGN IF YOU ARE A FOREIGNER.😡😡😡😡👿👿👿👿😤😤😤😤

That very well may be true, but you do have to say, that your former country is very beautiful, and the people still living there are very good people. Thank you for your input!!1
