Lovely painting, nice tutorial. I was a bit puzzled by your comment “Vince uses only gluten free paints because he’s allergic to dairy”. Dairy proteins are different than gluten proteins. Did you mean Vince uses casein/whey free paints because he’s allergic to dairy? Just wondering.

Loved the video. I liked the palette. I have a question, what colors are you using.
it's remarkable how you brought out such a beautiful rose to life, without any outline or reference or any guide either! I'm an amateur oil and pastel artist with aphantasia and this kind of creation process just blows me away with amazement.

This is amazing!! But here’s a tip for filming your videos, instead of just one paint strike and then a jump cut do multiple paint strokes and then jump cut, it makes the process more easier to follow along and catches a viewers attention! When I film my art tiktoks like this they always seem to get more attention than other ways I film it ❤

Hi! I’m considering getting a q3 and was wondering if you used gesture VR for pass through and how you’d rate it?
@EVWIII7 ай бұрын
By gesture, do you mean hand tracking. As in not using controllers?

@@EVWIII oh, sorry - I meant using pass through mixed reality to draw with real paper and pencil.

With a well lit area there is quite a bit you can distinguish. That said, it certainly has tech limitations. The cameras are only so good and the screens are only so good. I was impressed with passthrough, but nothing beats the natural eye (obviously). The meta glasses might be a better use case just for art.

Great video, I wish there were more like these ! I'm the creator of Contour for Quest 2/3 which I built specifically for the sketching using tracing / drawing transfer - I orignally made it for large mural painting, which used to require a video projector. From my experience and conversations with my users, the actual paint job is still very hard to perform through passthrough lenses, but for a rough sketch it does the job well. Feel free to reach out if you want to give it a try.

Are you painting with gesso on the canvas?
@EVWIII9 ай бұрын
Yes, after gesso, I apply a "ground layer". This is just a tonal wash over the entire canvas. It's helpful to part on top of a "color" or value rather than the stark white of gesso.
@starbucks19719 ай бұрын
@@EVWIII What are the advantages of using gesso? Can’t I just buy the canvas and use it right away?

The oils will breakdown the canvas. A protective, intermediate layer is needed.
