Wow this was 9 years ago. In the meantime Valentino can add a moto1, moto2 and motogp team to his CV. His academy delivered the current 2 time motogp WC Bagnaia and riders like Bez, Marini and Morbidelli. Whilst he just participated at the 24H of Leman. Valentino is a legend

I got a 17 plate and it’s great made even better when I upgraded front and rear suspension yss… I tour Europe with the bigger boys and let’s be honest about it do you really tour at 100mph plus no! I keep up no problem in fact on the twisties am quicker do to the lightness which also makes life easier.. honestly value for money a great bike and not the annoying tag of little first big bike

Who was the first guy to do this? I forgot his name, but it was back in the 80s I think. And he used a Yamaha XT 500??

This is what a real GP bike sounds like. 4 strokes are okay but nothing sounds more right on a track than a 500 2 stroke, it just screams GP
@RT22-pb2pp8 ай бұрын
I am 60 I grew up in the hey day of 500cc 2 stroke GP bikes, I wished the kids getting onto bikes today would go search you tube for the battles in the 80s and early 90s in gp, it was just a better time in gp like the old V12 and V10s in formula one it just sounded like racing is supposed to sound screaming engines full tilt and it is MUSIC
@BjGunnBjgunn11 ай бұрын
The apex of the corner must of scared you more than the throttle. Yes it's an nsr 500. But a 2 stroke gp bike not hitting the apex or once been given the beans is like Lindsey Lohan not doing a line

Probably my favorite bike of all time, maybe second only to the RC211V. They’re close though!!

Dislike for open face helmet. Only absolute clowns wear open face helmets IMO, good way to lose your face/jaw in even a low speed accident. Fucking stupid on a touring bike.

Now......9,500 ish miles later. Into the start of my third season with this sexy bike I love everything about it,except ya know it's a little tough with the thicker Corbin seat to get my stiff cranky leg over the seat but that's fine. Once I'm on in good. 💖😎😁💪💪💪💪💪

You have a death wish! All it takes is some idiot to turn right without indicating, a pedestrian to cross the road in front of the bus or a car to come out from the left. I've experienced all three, luckily I was riding slowly and could stop in time. The chap on the motorbike at 0:57 seems to have more sense than you.

No TFT screen, No Cruise Control, Still using throttle cables, No option for panniers, Horrible looking front end, can really use the bike until over 7000 rpm ? Kawasaki SX 1000 would be a better option ?

A few years on and having seriously considered a heavily-discounted '18 model, I find myself asking why, if the focus groups said they don't care that much about luggage and pillion, there seem to be so many people looking at this bike claiming those as the areas of fault... It does make it unique, though. It would just be nice to be able to build if not buy a lightweight touring bike from something along the lines of this bike (or the 750). The Ninja is a nice bike but something between the 650 and 1000 would be just right for many. no?

Wish I could have been able to buy one back in the days. Hopefully, the MY2022 890 SMC R would be great as well!
@TheKniperlight4 жыл бұрын
I've seen the 890 duke R in action and that engine is brutal. If they put it in a supermoto with the same ~166kg weight it'll be an insane machine. However I still don't know it it's gonna match that grunt and big power volume of the 990's engine. No replacement for displacement. The 990 pushed out up to around 129 horsrpower at the rear wheel when properly set up. The 890 MIGHT put down like 120 at the rear with good tuning, and that engine won't have as easy of a time generating that power as the 990 vtwin would. Still, I believe it will be a sick bike.
@debroyprasenjit4 жыл бұрын
@@TheKniperlight Agreed. However, the low weight ought to make that an energetic ride. Hopefully, KTM R&D is on track.
