I have both watches and I love them both. If you go swimming, the w59 is the better choice.

Having owned them both longer now, I'd say the solar watch wasn't difficult to live with actually. I hardly ever bother putting it anywhere to charge anymore but it always shows a full charge on the display. I've never seen it go down, and I like that it syncs the time every night. But the other is cheaper

Go with a solar and radio one I have the 5600GG but prefere my radiocontrolled solar one. The 5600 is nice tough!

I wish that Casio would someday make a new version of the GW-6900-1 with LED backlight, and maybe replace Multi Band 6 with Bluetooth while retaining the Tough Solar feature of the original GW-6900.

Can I just ask what the actual case size is (not lug to lug) from just above the curved G SHOCK on the bezel above 12 to just below the light button at 6? It's really difficult to find the answer because every measurement on the web includes the "lugs"/start of strap, it would be so handy if you could, thanks in advance 👍🏻

Had a tough solar for well over a 15 years, when I was wearing the watch daily only once a year normally towards the end of winter would it need a day on a window sill in the sun to charge. For the past 5 it’s sat unused in a draw, pulled it out this week and after only a few minutes in the sun it woke up and within a day was back to full charge

f-84 is aesthetically superior to f-91 because there are no protruding areas for the buttons. f-84's shape is much simpler than f-91.

Call me crazy, but the bezel-less watch in between replacing it, doesn't look half bad. I prefer the 5600, but I'm going to have to get one of these to feel more complete. Both are absolute classics.

Thanks for the good review. I own one of these Hamilton Khaki King watches, and I reckon it is about the best field watch that a person could find. I weighed the 100 M. water resistance vs. the King's 50 M. water resistance before buying, and I decided that I was never going to find myself 100 M. under water.

Great review! I see that you like to put cash in between your cards on the Aviator Slide One. Does it create any gaps or lopsidedness in the stack of cards? I have heard that even embossed cards can cause this to happen, so I have to imagine folded currency could be even worse. I am currently between the Aviator Slide and Slide One, and I would only use the coin tray on the Slide for 1-2 dollar bills at one time. If I can escape the coin tray by putting cash between cards, that would be great!

Thanks. I can't say I noticed any lopsidedness. The coin tray is not a great place to put folded bills. It's far easier to put them between the cards, as I do. I think you'd like the Slide One better. It's slimmer. I used the a blue Slide One for many months. It's in this review kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqG2dJaLbJanZ5Y with optional AirTag clip or regular clip that also gives you external cash storage.

I'd go with the acrylic. It's lighter and less scratchy against your cards.

I have both and I am very sure that w59 is more legible in low light environments. Most of the time you don't need that lumin. Legibility: w59>f91>f105

I usually need to track time in seconds, so having a countdown timer that can count in 1-second steps is crucial. Even though I like how the GW looks, I ended up choosing the DW instead.

Don’t listen to them nonsense precautions, they have to write that to cover themselves but it’s bolocks, it’s a G Shock so it’s tough👍🏻
