What screws should be used to mount hanging board on the backboard? Is 3/4"" enough to keep-up with the momentum that could be generated e.g. doing dynamic pull-ups?
@metolius2 ай бұрын
Decking Screws: #9 x 3” is what we supply with our hang boards.
@PauloItaliano2 ай бұрын
@@metolius I understand. So do you assume screws will stick out of 3/4" backboard? Because the thickness of hangboard is about 1.57" so they will stick out about 0.68". I am asking because I need to mount it on concrete wall.
@metolius2 ай бұрын
@@PauloItaliano You want the deck screws going all the way through the backboard to have a secure attachment. What I would do is mount the hang board to the backboard first with the deck screws and cut off the excess screw length with something like a hack saw blade from the back to get the correct length and secure attachment. If you have any mounting holes for the backboard to the concrete that are behind the hang board, remove the hang board then reattach it using the same screws and screw holes. Hope that helps.

I bought a rack of Metolius cams when I first started trad climbing. I still have them years later. And they're still the ones I reach for first.

I'm the proud owner of over 100 cams and Metolius is still by far my favorite cam!

Neat! I wonder if you could fit 2 haul bags side by side under it? It doesn't look big enough to, but maybe you could? I wonder how an XL sized one would behave with 2 bags under it?

It's fairly rigid along the length, but it's less ridged to twisting.

I'm not saying there should be an advertisement where you someone takes a beer luge down the length of one of these after a hard send, but the design lends itself to that nicely :)

Innovative - love it! But $$$... We'll easily be able to identify Bay Area climbers when we see them deploying this. I'd like it to be two feet longer and/or to see the price down to the <$100 mark.
@FunFactOfTheDay11 ай бұрын
Fantastic innovation - get that manufacturing dialed in and drop the price to 100 bucks and you’ve got a hit on your hands. However at 225 any other stick clip is plenty easy to carry by sliding it in the water bottle pocket of your pack haha. Plus the regular stick clip options out there can all be taken up a hard sport route for cheating your way to the top, whereas this would be a hassle to carry. Neat idea though!

No offense I love Metolius and love your guy's team, but when I first seen this product Video months ago I thought it was an April fools joke or something. This has to be one of the silliest climbing products out there. And the price is insane! I've overheard multiple parties at the crag talking smack about this product as well so im not the only one...
