All the roids that they give to cows and chicken and stuff that put into milk and the sugar and salt in foods .. ect no wonder folks are over weight . The US Government and FDA needs to be called out for it .

While I loved this community and empowerment, the minute we leave it there are uneducated, judgmental, shaming people waiting to take us down because they feel superior to us, because they need us to feel superior. How do we change that?

I think this is upsetting. Taking about a new way of being kind and not being shamed and apologetic for the way things have been done in the past and the focus being different. I feel all of this is just another type of diet fad it’s like a joke to me I am sorry but it’s self serving trying another way of getting more customers. It’s just so much fluff . Every diet thing we have done in the past was wrong but this is not . So sorry just really turned me off .

It IS willpower for me. I have the choice to eat delicious broccoli or delicious cookies. I prefer the taste and feeling I get from cookies. I like sitting in my recliner with my cat. I CAN use willpower to CHOOSE walking and fruit. But it doesn’t just happen to a person. I have friends taking ozempic and eating 10,000 calories. That doesn’t make a person lose weight and losing weight is what lowers my blood pressure and my blood sugar and sleep apnea. So talking “around” the fact that a person has to make choices to lose weight by changing my selections for food and movement. And this is not a new concept and it has not been a secret. The motivation and inspiration to use what willpower I have- that’s what WW does for me.

It's obviously not okay to shame people, but I don't think it's okay to do nothing if you're morbidly obese. I've spent a lifetime fighting weight and now have diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. And painful knees. I'm taking a weight loss drug and have lost over 30 lbs so far, so I think "doing nothing" is not an option if you care about your health and life span.

I have been a life time member of WW for years. Unfortunately, the meeting I was attending never survived after Covid so I have to travel about 40 miles to attend a meeting. Because of this, I no longer have to weigh in monthly which helps greatly with travel. I have had ups and downs but never gotten totally away from the program. I decided in January to really get serious with my weight control again. I have lost all the weight I want to loose and am staying on track with the WW app, which I love. I eat a lot of zero point food and I try to track everything I eat and have been more than happy with my success. It is very important to track what you eat regularly. I am at my lowest weight in years, I walk a lot, play pickle ball with friends 4 days a week and will go in for my annual weigh in the end of July. If you make up your mind to succeed, you can certainly do so with weight watchers. It is definitely important to attend weekly meetings when you start and continue to do so until you successfully get your weight under control.

I was not impressed and I go to Weight watchers. I left my Weight watchers class I am I was not impressed with the CEO constantly apologizing for Weight watchers. Actually I was not impressed of this at all. Not an Oprah fan again. I was very dissatisfied with the CEO and on the Weight watchers member and I like my class my coach and I like Weight watchers and all but again I did not like this..

I was a part of the virtual audience for this event and I can honestly say, it was amazing to watch. To hear that you are not alone in this fight to just be normal was incredible. The chat was also amazing. I really wish everyone was able to get approved for the medicine because at the moment there are a lot of people( including me) who have conditions that would improve or even completely disappear. Since we don't have type two diabetes, the other diseases that can also kill us but would be better with weight loss, doesn't seem to worry the insurance companies at all.

This video has helped me tremendously. I’ve been overweight most of my life, including my childhood. I’ve always felt “less than” because of my weight. I’ve joined and quit Weight Watchers at least 25 times and I’m 64 years old. I reached goal weight in 1982 with WW, but gained 100+ pounds since then. It wasn’t until last year, my doctor advised I have metabolic syndrome and that is why I am not losing weight. I tried Rybelsus last year, lost weight, but had horrible side effects and quit taking it after 6 months. My doctor recently prescribed Mounjaro for me and I am hoping it will finally make a difference. I rarely leave the house as I’m embarrassed about how I look and feel. I look into the mirror and don’t know how this happened and barely recognize myself. It wasn’t until I watched the ABC Oprah special, it was my AHA moment. It’s not my fault, I have a disease. I need to treat this disease with compassion and learn how to love myself for the first time. After finishing this video, I am a bit frightened that I won’t be able to get the Mounjaro due to shortages. I will continue to watch this video as it’s the first time in my life, I now know I have an illness and will be treating my obesity as a disease in which I will use every tool available in the toolbox to fight this.

Taking away in-person workshops in my location has destroyed the community that had been so supportive and encouragement. It is impossible to drive 100 miles one way for a meeting. I tried several virtual meetings and have never felt a connection to the members. I have tried sharing and listening. It’s just not the same as sitting across a table or next to the same people week after week. I have been a Weight Watchers member since about 1987. I made Lifetime in 1989. WW has come a long way in their approach to weight health but some changes has helped some people and some changes have hurt some people. I have not been able to attend an in-person meeting since March, 2020, when our meetings were closed.

As a WW member, I've seen zero changes since this conversation. It's still the same ole jargon discussions during the workshops with members still talking good and bad foods, and the coaches not reformatting that discussion. I was really hopeful to see some shifts occur around the conversation but so far, nada.
