Wow...absolutely magnificent! I don't play the pipe organ (but wish I could). I do know enough about them to know that this must be a very difficult piece to play. A lot is going on. You make it seem effortless and with NO sheet music. How incredible is that? I am in awe. I love your choice of stops as the piece progresses and I absolutely love this instrument. Thank you for posting this video!

Hýml to je dílo. Já Francka vlastně nemám rád, ale máme v pěveckém sboru nového dirigenta, a ten člověk mě snad na francouzské varhany (Vierne; Duruflé) naučí 🙂. L'hymne est une œuvre. Je n'aime pas vraiment Franck, mais nous avons un nouveau chef de chœur, et cette personne, j'espère, m'apprendra l'orgue français (Vierne ; Duruflé) 🙂.

Agreed. There are no words to describe the austere poetry of those last few bars in the pedal. They seem to end at the gateway to another world.

In just a few more months this wonderful organ will speak again. I very much like how Mr Vexo doesn’t rush the finale progression of chords in the last movement.

Mr. Vexo came to Seattle several years ago. He played a concert at the Catholic Cathedral of St. James. Flawless playing, all from memory and was a very pleasant man.

Quite a benchmark of a Steady ‘bench-Mark’ on a Re-markable Instrument, and voicing, Bravo, even if the subject in the lyrics is one of Bachs faith related ,wide known pieces of sacred music, 🎹🎹🎹✝️

Si, pendant un examen de vive voix où l'obtention du diplôme D.M. en dépendait, on me jouait cet entregistrement de la célèbre prélude de choral de Bach---et que le prof me demande le lieu et le facteur d'orgue, jamais de la vie je ne penserais au C-C de Notre Dame de Paris! Avec quelques arrières-pensées je répondrais "l'orgue Hildebrand de Naumburg avec sa multiplication inusuelle de jeux de 8', avec ses anches qui favorisent plutôt le ton fondamental et non pas les tons aigüs disons d'un Schnitger ou d'un André Silbermann, et avec sa Posaune 32' qui surprend par son facteur tout en bois et non pas en métal, etc. etc. Et je demanderais de la clémence quand on me dirait, après coup, la bonne réponse. Nous avons tous tellement hâte que cet orgue de Notre Dame s'entende de nouveau. Qu'il retrouve sa place "the better for the wear," tournure qui provient de ma langue maternelle mais qui me paraît en ce moment intraduisible . ❤

Very nicely done. Like the celeste section, a new twist to an old story. This is a tone poem, after all. Vry clear articulation. Nicely done. More organiztz should appreciate the nedd to let all the notes come through
