Thanks! I'm working on a design for an off grid home. I hadn't heard of the inspector port before to flush out the system and test it. I'm thinking of modifying my header layout to avoid any dead end side branches. Adds a little to the header length, but since I'm designing a loop, it shouldn't have any effect on pressure drop in the system.

Very odd. Possibly a KZbin issue? It’s working fine on a couple of test machines and a phone I checked it on.

This is great. But it's insane that they installed these into apartments - what a joke. This is NOT what normal people should be having to do, especially tenants with no electrical knowledge. I can't afford to get an electrician to change mine. And my hands don't work well enough (from an accident many years ago) to do this process as you show it.

I agree. It is a real hassle. I want to replace mine with LED's at some point, but that is also a lot of work.

This is great. Thanks. I am hearing a clicking noise when I press my reclining button but no movement. Transformer and power seem fine. Any ideas? I imagine something is loose as this happened after having carpet replaced and furniture moved.
@ThingsEvenICanDo14 күн бұрын
Not sure. Do you have a single chair or a love seat/couch with two recliners? If two, I’d suggest swapping the known working parts with the one that doesn’t work and see if you can isolate the issue. If it’s just a single, you’re kind of stuck. Follow all the wire to make sure everything is plugged in and no damage to wires.

Thank you so much for your help. I just bought a Matthews Cove triple action reclining couch with great hesitation, because I know that the more gadgets something has, there's more possibility of things to go wrong. However, I had to replace the latches twice in my manual opening couch so I figure that I'll be able to learn to replace the mechanisms on an electric couch as well. I can't seem to find any owners manual for my couch anywhere so I really appreciate learning some basics from your videos. Thank you for sharing your expertise.

What happens if you don't turn the gas off. I have a Gas. Regulator Just. Before the unit
@ThingsEvenICanDo2 ай бұрын
It is generally recommended that the gas be off for safety reasons. Though I have seen posts online (Reddit, etc) where people say they have left on the gas and say there weren’t any problems in doing so. Nevertheless, Rheem says don’t do it and warn that damage can occur. See here: www.drftps.com/wp-content/uploads/Rheem_tankless_flushing.pdf

If my car has terminals (Because my battery is behind my front driver wheel), can I jump start it from there? Or, is it better to use the positive battery connection, and the vehicle metal positioning?
@ThingsEvenICanDo2 ай бұрын
Not positive…. Some cars do have remotely located terminals to make it easier to jump. If that’s what this is, then you can probably do it. I’d check the manual though to be sure.

One thing that concerned me is when I turned the pump on, everything “sounded ok” but I didn’t see, for example, water gushing out of the hot water hose. I expected to see some noticeable water coming out (with the expectation I wouldn’t see water going in because the motor obviously wouldn’t let me “see it”. Should it be very obvious water is coming out the hot end when you turn on the motor?
@ThingsEvenICanDo2 ай бұрын
Water should come out of the hot hose when the pump is running. The pump sends water to the water heater and it then returns to the bucket out of the hot side hose.
@romyromes2 ай бұрын
@ yea. Ok I think my assumption is right. The pump is on but it’s not circulating water. Thanks for your time (and video!)

Nice to see old fluorescent stuff being used still!
@ThingsEvenICanDo3 ай бұрын
Indeed!
@SwingboyPAАй бұрын
No it's not. Fluorescent lighting is inefficient and throwing away a fluorescent bulb is actually illegal in most states. Why? Because they have mercury in them. In fact, if you break a bulb, there is a (somewhat ridiculously paranoid) 20 minute protocol for how to deal with it (You're supposed to leave the room for most of that time, Wear gloves, Damp mop, etc). A much better solution is to swap out the insert for a standard screw and light bulb socket. Alternatively, you can buy a four-pin LED bulb and not worry about breaking it. I linked an adapter with four pins in the back side and a standard screw in socket In the general comments. You can't use them everywhere and in some cases you'll obviously have to use a stubbier light bulb. :-) If this is coming across as being nasty or harsh, I don't mean it that way, but rather to inform so that we all do a better and safer job by removing fluorescent light bulbs from the waste stream and also eliminating the danger to ourselves and our kids from Mercury poisoning. --- Pro tip: avoid integrated LED lighting. It's a scam by the manufacturers so that when your light bulb dies you have to buy an entirely new fixture instead of just unscrewing a light bulb and changing it like a normal person would. I'm telling you all of this because I'm an electrician and I'm sick of people being ripped off by unscrupulous manufacturers and electricians who like this stuff because it is "repeat business". Hint to my fellow electricians: If you can't run your business without scamming your customers, you should go to business school.
