Nice shots! I recently got the mini 3 and found that it takes some practice to get smooth panning shots. Some of your scenes were quite smooth, while others had a bit more choppiness. Keep posting! I’m in West Seattle.

Have you tried the STC dual narrowband filter with a wide angle lens such as 14-24mm too? I'm thinking about getting the clip in version for an a7rii, but I cant find much information about whether it's going to work.

Hi. What is the color of the glass on the front of this scope ? ( I have seen variations of blue , pink/ orange , and green in the filters in the glass.... thanks. And... is the color of the sun visually in all Lunt scopes EXACTLY the same? Or are there slight variations ? ...just curious. Thanks.

Thanks we are trying to image with the Lunt 50 mm as well but cannot get it at all . How did you do it and what spacers etc did you have to use.
@matthew2182 Жыл бұрын
I'm looking into as a complete novice without the equipment yet but I've read a b600+ blocking filter is needed for imaging. Stock they come with a b400. In other forums I've read a barlow might let you get focus with a camera or dedicated cam. Again... no experience here. Just looking into getting one and I'm in the research phase.
@matthew2182 Жыл бұрын
Also, just found out the eyepeice holder on the blocking filter unscrews revealing the T- thread for dedicated cams or a camera adapter.

Often there are places near the mirror where light can get in on Newtonians. I put a black cap on the mirror end to block any stray light from getting in.

How did you process the image using the narrow band filter? (I gave you a sub, I love all things astrophotgraphy and science)
@lecaleite4 жыл бұрын
I have the same equipment as you (orion 120st), in the other video I saw that the chromatic aberration in your photos are exactly the same as I have. I live in a place with 3/4 scale bortle, little light pollution. But I liked the result of the filter, it removed almost everything from aberration. Did you reduce the aberration via software? or is that already the final result after the star has been processed? Are you enjoying the filter? have more photos? Instagram? My camera is modified is your camera modified? I saw that it isnt good on modified cameras, do you know why?
@RollingAu4 жыл бұрын
Yeah before I had any filters I tried my best to remove/balance the colors( chromatic aberration and light pollution) on my images. But Ive kind of given up on imaging in the suburbs, I had other images like the Jellyfish nebula and other objects I had imaged but I decided to scrap those pictures, kinda got tired of trying to image in shitty skies. Ill probably upload a new video using both the CLS and my Stc filter under really dark skies, I think having a nice dark sky is probably way better than having expensive equipment or filters in my opinion. And none of my cameras are modified, and that is true I have seen people say that certain filters are useless with cameras that haven't been modified, though I haven't seen anyone test that theory out, I have also tested my filters and cameras in photographing the sun, so i might upload a vid about that.

I managed to find the adapter on two Canadian websites, which made the shipping very pricy. The websites also took some time to find. kwtelescope.com should be one of the websites and here is the link of what the adapter should look like skywatcher.com/product/2-eyepiece-holder-for-dob-57mm/ it is the only adapter that fits this 8inch celestron.
