The other problem with the drains over time the hoses shrink on length and pull out of the rubber where they pass into the body to go out to drain. I'm currently dealing with short hoses leaking water into the body at the bottom connection.
@W4M-o3d13 күн бұрын
Great video! Just needed this to see where the hoses are on mine. Unfortunately looks like someone has tried to do a repair on mine previously and used some sort of silicone to stop the leak which has obviously failed.

2011 Audi Q5, prestige. OK, I found that the speaker is very difficult to access and originally thought that it couldn't be replaced. The key word in this procedure regarding removal of the buzzer is 'pry'. So instead of unscrewing the two fasteners that held the defective buzzer, I used a flat blade screw driver to 'pry' the buzzer off. The plastic screw inserts and Torx screws came out intact allowing the cable connector to be removed and installed on the replacement buzzer. Problem fixed, the backup camera works. Allow about 60 to 90 mins for this procedure.

Can someone with experience on this issue please respond. I have a VW Tiguan 2012. The 2 rear drain tubes were disconnected at the bottom at the spider trap without my knowing. They overflowed and water was creeping into the boot. I've fixed the drain tubes but here is the question. Where exactly has this overflowed water gone?? When I take a turn I can clearly hear from the ear a sloshing sound left and right turns. I have stripped the rear down to the floor. No idea. There appear to be these plugs, 4 of them in a diamond pattern. I pulled one out (it was silliconed shut) and I do think it's wet down there, the left one. The one closest to the bumper it goes straight through to the ground. Anyway, can anyone shed line on where this trapped water is and how to get out. Nobody seems to know!!

You fooled me - there is a third bolt at the heatshield that is sooo unable to reach. And this bolt is so useless, they just put it in there so you have to pull the engine i guess.
@speedlinegarageАй бұрын
@@svengoj you must have S4 ?
@svengojАй бұрын
@speedlinegarage Normal a6 c7 from 2011 but its the same engine. I mean, two bolts where enough for that shield. no reason for the third bolt at a place where you can’t reach it. Engine pull for one bolt. Edit: I was able to remove the screw (and will never put it back) by removing the wheel arch liner and accessing it from the side with an extension including a joint after I had previously viewed the screw with an endoscope. Now the sheet metal is loosened, but you cannot remove it. But you can now move it freely and you can now get to the last screws.

Is there anyway ambient air temperature could affect these? I have a 2010 gti that was leaking at the water pump, replaced the pump and all seemed fine all summer until the outside temperature dropped below -5c (23f) at what time the engine would over heat, and the heater would blow cold air. I replaced the thermostat (cause that makes sense) but had the exact same issue with the new thermostat. Then once spring hit the car worked perfect from April until now (October) but I’m assuming next month I will run into the same issue. I REALLY can’t imagine that air temperature could affect this, but it also seems unlikely that 2 new, and different companies thermostats would both be defective.

Easy Off's active ingredient (if you look up the SDS) is sodium hydroxide - a highly corrosive base! If you have anything that's zinc plates it will totally ruin it!!! Zinc is amphoteric and reacts with both acids and bases - so if you put it on anything zinc plates it forms sodium zincate after reacting with sodium hydroxide :(( Not the right stuff to be using on automotive parts! It will likely also ruin any clearcoat. Not the right stuff to be using IMO.

I like the fact that this model puts a 7 amp load on the contacts especially as many components will work ok when cold but start to fail when hot or a load is applied. Not sure if the lisle relay pro just does a continuity test on the contacts or it actually puts an amp load on it?
