I would love to know what you people think about this (as I still don't have a clear opinion): Offering vegan food to non vegans is most of the time a lost battle, they will simply compare the taste, that's it, they will not take into consideration other factors. They generally have a strong bias on "I will not like this" which can make it more likely not to like it or be extra picky. Also, they DON'T WANT TO LIKE IT, because that would be like confirming "even though you like the taste you still prefer to pay to kill animals? That's cruel!" so even if they do like the vegan food, their mind may force them to believe that they do not like it. The result of this is that they may think "oh I'm sorry for the animals, but I am a person who can't enjoy vegan food so it's not my fault, I will continue eating animals". This is why I never recommend any non vegan to "try vegan food for a week", I think it's WAY more beneficial if they simply watch a documentary, you need to trigger their empathy to go vegan, not their taste buds, once they do connect to an emotional level, veganism should come on its own and forever. This is also why sometimes I feel uncomfortable when non vegans try vegan food, because I don't really trust their (most of the time) biased opinion, unless I really feel they are REALLY open minded. Sorry for the long text but would love to know what you think about these random thoughts

I loved this! Hoozay and Nelson were awesome. I always appreciate honesty and openness. I'm the only vegan I know, and it's hard when my own friends and family bad mouth my diet choice. But, I always appreciate the ones who indulge me for a meal even if it's not their taste. I live in the IE and have family in LA so, it's nice to see places I can check out. Thanks for the great video, can't wait to see more!

Thanks so much for watching and so happy this resonated with you! I’m the only vegan one in my family also and thankfully they are open and respectful but it’s also an opportunity to share about the benefits.

I commend them for being open minded enough to try it…tasty vegan food is the key to converting people
@danbarbieri20073 күн бұрын
How open minded do you have to be, seriously - like trying food without dead animals is some sort of brave adventure ehhehe. As far as tasty vegan food being the key to converting people . . . yes but, like the second guest, they don't understand it is an ethical philosophy and it isn't about their diet or health, and they go back to eating innocent sentient beings eventually, and often soon after being a "vegan." If you understand and connect with the "why" you will never go back and you will always figure out the "how."

@@danbarbieri2007 yea I know I’ve been vegan 10 years…but these people have been programmed from birth by the government to eat it…they’re not thinking rationally

Im glad to see comedians like Hoozay and Nelson trying vegan food, but its disappointing that they didnt seem to fully grasp the cruelty-free aspect of this cuisine. Im sharing this so others can come learn more about the amazing world of plant-based eating and join me in promoting compassion for all beings
@ratedvfood3 күн бұрын
At then end of the day I’m just happy when non-vegans have an open mind. I’m not gonna place judgment on anyone for not having the full grasp of cruelty-free.. most people don’t when they are first exploring vegan food. That comes with time. In fact I think hardcore judgement is what pushes people away. ✌🏽

The problem with most pizza dough vegan or non vegan is the use of l-cysteine as a dough conditioner which is typically not listed as an ingredient or even if it is they will list it as vegan when it is derived from human hair or feathers. Muslims consider l-cysteine haram. I only eat pizza now that I personally make and make the dough. Many vegans don’t even realize that they are eating it bc the label says vegan but plenty of people would say it is not.
I'm not going to lie, I mean all of it looks awesome but unfortunately. It's a shame that many of these cool vegan places are more or less exclusive for those who are lower middle to low income people such as myself who cannot afford to dine out as much as some people do. Especially with the rise of income and wealth inequality, the ongoing housing crisis, homelessness, and the prices of everything continue to go up at this point still. Especially where it's more common in major cities like what you showned us called Portland, Oregon

So I did try Pizza Pizza, the chicken sandwich was good..bread could be better but in a clutch I would eat it.. The pizza I didn’t care for it was over cooked and bland. I’m at Evviva today and the vegan bacon was good, pancakes are fluffy but a little dry but the berries on top really good 👍🏽 Thanks for the options 😊 I will try a few more places 😋 I’ve been vegan for more than 10+ years..

Been vegan for 8 years, can confirm, there is NO good vegan cheese. They just can't get the TEXTURE right. You'll never find vegan cheese that stretches like normal cheese and of course, never completely tastes the same. The non stretch really sucks, always goopy.
