I prefer scissor tongs because I can squeeze to Open the tongs, grab the stone and then I can let go or hand the tweezers/tongs to someone else to look at the stone using a Loupe. It's great because the average person does not know how to hold a gem with tongs and it is apt to go flying.

Garnets can be synthesized. YAG is garnet even though it isn't in nature. Normal garnet is also synthesized.

I was beginning to become frustrated at how little information there is on KZbin regarding gem hunting in the UK - until I found this video. It was professional, presented well and absolutely packed with information, thank you so much for making this.

i'm smitten by the way i was gonna look at minerals and gems however my eyes have been drawn in by a far prettier much more precious sight so much so i'd love the honour of being found intresting in the eyes of her in return wud be a special feeling holding onto one anothers hand .I'm strongly attracted by that smile and a face more beautiful than diamonds & gems captivated by words that share my hobbies & intrests. ☆joey☆ IT'S LONELY WEN U DONT DO APP'S + SOCIAL MEDIA , 7 IT'S JUST ME AND BUDDY'DOG.

at minute 6:31 ...turn the gemstone 360 degrees. I'm flumoxed. As a pilot we tease others telling stories about running into thunderstorms and turning 360 degrees to get the heck out of there. Maybe 180 degress would be what's wanted here too. And I am thankful for the presentation.

I see your point, but I believe what is intended here is to BEGIN rotating the specimen 360 and STOP when the R.I. lines are furthest apart.

It was the minerals exhibit in the dark room with the black light that still drives my interest in gemstones, real or synthetic, that change colors under different types of light, from Alexandrite to Zultanite. I make fashion jewelry as well as fine jewelry.

Will glass filled or Flux healed Ruby still shown as Ruby under the Gem Tester II? Thx
@phoenixadams99629 ай бұрын
I am very grateful this popped up in my feed today! I buy my sapphires from a company in Thailand and when i was looking for my first Padparadscha sapphire, i was following a definition from a gemologist that the intensity should be light to medium. The BE Heated stones were very intense and they were all exactly the same color. They looked fake, or too good to be true, to me, so i chose one with just basic heating. I am now glad i did.
