May I suggest that you look into acquiring a Bulgarian retirement visa? It's extremely cheap and easy to acquire and can get you 'Schengen Rights' meaning you won't face the same travel restrictions in Europe that the post Brexit retiree Brits face. Then you would be able to stay in Spain for extended periods. Property/accommodation prices, food and transportation all very affordable in most cities in Bulgaria. Health insurance is negligible or free if using a UK GHIC (Global Health Insurance Card) issued for free by the UK Government. Yippee! Though there is a requirement for life insurance. Definitely worth looking into for a bloke in your position I reckon. As always the 'devil is in the detail' but I think this could be a viable option for you. Whatever you decide I wish you the best and have enjoyed your Thailand vloggs immensely.

So am I right in saying accommodation inc utilities and deposit (which you may not get back, depending on landlord) around £6k GBP for the year. Food, clothes, at about £1.3k for the year? The rest looks like optional (Vespa, watches)…but you/“the royal we” would have to pay for transport somehow…. So if I had a budget of around £18k-£22k per year I could live very comfortably….does that include female company every now and then?
