the thing is, the way jet engines can push so much is because there are a lot of fans

That last part isn't true. There are plenty of airlines that would rather chose that engine over the LEAP 1A because of its better efficiency. those groundings should faze out within the next half year and then it should all be normal.

@mrunning103 күн бұрын
@@Nosferatu295 Ahh, excellent. I analyzed the certification compliance to the Type Certificate. It shouldn't need "fixing" if it were designed corrected. All good until that fan gear comes apart due to asymmetric loading (should be contained) or the turbine blows up like the kinetic bomb that it is because it's the faster high spool ever and lives right on the virtual edge of material properties and the FAA skimmed right over 14 CFR 33.29 (and PW didn't complain about this because the KNEW the engine did not comply (will be an un-containment, KABOOM) (h) The applicant must provide instrumentation enabling the flight crew to monitor the functioning of the turbine cooling system unless appropriate inspections are published in the relevant manuals and evidence shows that: (1) Other existing instrumentation provides adequate warning of failure or impending failure; (2) Failure of the cooling system would not lead to hazardous engine effects before detection; or (3) The probability of failure of the cooling system is extremely remote. --> Ooooppss sorry flying public, THIS FAILED.

"blessed?" For a company that pays lip service to "sustainability" and is #1 interested in the fucking bottom line of quarterly earnings? « Béni ? » Pour une entreprise qui fait semblant de parler de « durabilité » et qui est #1 intéressée par le putain de résultat net des bénéfices trimestriels ?

Of course it's a great engine, when it ain't sitting on the ground you dumbshit. The ISSUE is the problems that PW KNEW were there BEFORE Certification and yet the FAA Certified this Piece of Shit anyway.

Nice animation, good presentation. The narration was lost to me at, "a kind of super gasoline"! Hello!! It is kerosene! Jet-A1 is kerosene with all of the corrosive elements removed, ie: Sulphur, amongst others. You can run a jet engine on gasoline, but that would be economically stupid, it will run on diesel, but diesel is very rough -- a fuel that is much closer to it's fossil origins. I don't know a tech that will go up in the aircraft fueled with diesel.
