Hello, my mothers 2016 CRV all of a sudden has a blinking D light and car will not move. Check engine light came on with 2 codes. P0796 and P0746. Alldata thinks it could be the valve body. Do you have any suggestions? Idk if these cars actually have replaceable pressure solenoids or if its all a part of the valve body. I can't find anything online.

When you push the piston on the caliper back. Does that cause any excess pressure in the brake lines/fluid? And do I need to bleed the brakes to get the air out etc after doing a brake change like this or only if I open the cap and add more brake fluid?
@Cargorage19 күн бұрын
When you push the piston, the pressure/fluid will just go back to the brake reservoir. You do not need to bleed the system unless you change a line/hose/caliper. And also if you notice the brake fluid is low (assuming no leak), never top it up with brake fluid. It just means you pads wearing out. 👌
@user-br9nd1zq4o19 күн бұрын
@@Cargorage gotcha thanks for the clarification! I did notice my fluid level a bit lower cause my pads are worn. Fluid has gotten darker too so I’ll change/bleed new fluid after a brake/rotor change 👍

@@Cargorage back tried to change my rotors, screw stripped, tried using a bit extractor, that broke inside the screw(should’ve just drilled it out like the other one) now that pos(made of steel apparently the drill doing nothing to it) is stuck in there and can’t even drill around or it out. About to put the whole front brake(both sides) back together and off to a shop because one tiny screw. RIP

Simply there is a way to get the out with a simple pointy chisel and a bit of heat if its very stubborn

@@Cargorage would a punch tool work? Or the chisel is highly recommended. Im also looking into diamond burr bits or cutting wheels to either grind the head away or make a cut and use a flathead

This problem is a direct result of high compression in a smaller lighter engine. Honda is pushing the limits of "just enough" in their engines from 2017-2019 and they payed the price in the form of reliability. However it's important to remember that these 1.5t motors have a lot of contributing factors that cause issues and it's important to be educated. At the end of the day, I'd still take a honda over a ford, Nissan or dodge. Nissan is having motors grenade at 60k. Ford and chevy are blowing up transmissions at 60k. And the 2016 Kia soul is famous for getting destroyed at 90k. All modern cars are shite

I just did it an hour ago on my 2020 accord 2.0t sport. It was very straightforward despite seeing that the undershield and transmission area were WAY dirtier than I expected, the screws on the undershield being stripped, and the drain plug being stripped and looking like it was sandblasted after being rusted. I used the hand pump method and I hated it, someone mentioned taking out the air box and there being a fill hole somewhere there so I'll use that next time although I've seen nobody use it in the tutorials I've watched.
@Cargorage2 ай бұрын
yeah the fill plug that's under the air filter box only applies to 1.5L engine, not this 2.0L.
