My guy, Russ might play for $25-30M plus some steep incentives. That’s as good as it will get! And those incentives had better give him the opportunity to be paid like an elite franchiseQB if he leads the squad to a SB and his s certain efficiency metrics along the way, including avoiding sacks. They also need to tie the incentives to his playing weight. Russ gained weight again this year. He should be playing at no more than 205-210 pounds.

DL and RB and the two deepest positions in this draft. I would flip CB and DL in your order of priority and start looking for DL in the 3-4 round. The drop off in wrs and cbs after round 2-3 is very significant in this draft.

I know I sound crazy, but I really think this team is rebuilding while not losing. Think about the roster when Colbert retired. It was a damn mess. Wasted picks on Najee, Pickett, and many other busts. The last two drafts have been mostly good. I still think Broderick will look better at LT. People forget that Andrew Thomas was thought to be a bust for the Giants until year 4, now he's one of the best 5 LT's in the league. This draft is about building the young guys who will take over for Cam and others soon. You get two DTs, a CB, a WR or two, and two RBs and you have something serious. Next season, trade draft capital and go get Allar or Arch Manning.

My issue with the reported audible issue is that there seems to be no good coaching reason to not let a veteran QB audible. It was pretty clear during the Fields tenure they stuck with plays that were destined to fail. They ran at stacked boxes at one of the highest rates in the NFL. Get out of that play for heavens sake. Also, this report comes from Gerry Dulac who has been called out by previous players for fabricating stories so that’s cool too 😬 (for reference the Cam Heyward story that broke where he doubled down and said he never replied to Gerry’s request for info but yet an assumption was made and thus a fabricated narrative)

Your top receiver was out three games then he came back and forgot how to catch. And your offensive coordinator decided that his feelings were hurt so he decided to run a run, run past vanilla offense which cost him the rest of the season essentially but the rest from Denver started to creep up…. I saw an article saying if we traded Pickens for Kupp, the trade would get us Kupp and a 3rd round pick. If we went that route, we get 4 picks in the top 100. We could go after 2 WRs in the draft and still get a DL and CB then address QB and RB in the 4th and 5th. The upside? Add a veteran to the WR room and get rid of Pickens before he holds out and continues his trend of being very toxic. Could work if we hit on Egbuka and then get a contested catch guy. Kupp will not replace the value Pickens brings, so we would still need that receiver in the draft. It WOULD add value in the sense of a seasoned NFL vet in the receiver room (our entire room had 3 years experience at best). Kupp would be a starter and could be a solid mentor for Austin and Wilson. Im not saying we NEED to do this, but it is interesting. Love to hear everyones thoughts on it.

Russ’s injuries have all been impact-related. His body isn’t breaking down. It has been trauma. That’s different from what happened to Roethlisberger, and I can tell Steelers fans have Post-Traumatic Syndrome from Roethlisberger’s decline. Don’t see Russ declining that way. Get Celine care if his body and has always been durable. He didn’t kiss his first Gabe or start until his 10th season.
