A USD fork at the front and drum brakes at the rear. That somehow doesn't seem to make sense. The motorcycle isn't nearly sporty enough to justify the Gixxer USD fork. But if it's for the looks...

As we say in the UK, that looks the dogs bollocks ( that’s a compliment 😉), I’m currently building a Virago cafe racer myself (with a mad exhaust system), if it turns out anywhere near as good I’ll be happy👏

14K trouble-free miles on my 2022 Guzzi 850 Special. Baked-in routine is check the oil before I start and check the tyres while it's warming up. It's such a reliable engine and so easy to work on, I also check the valve tolerances once a month too (10 min job both sides). These engines go on forever with very basic maintenance (and oil). 14K is barely run-in. Great vid.

My first bike was a 1966 Honda Sport 50.. I purchased through a True Value hardware store. The next year an actual stand alone dealer opened. There was a dream sitting on the floor and man, I really wanted it but it seemed so big for a 16 year old.

I had a Dream 150 in 1963 as a sophomore in high school. The first thing I did was pull the resonator tubes out of the mufflers. The second thing I did was pull the mufflers completely off. probably lost some power, but it sounded bad ass.

Hi, I saw an engine having same symptoms having melted it's main bearings, the shells on the crankshaft, so that yes, it would run perfectly at idle and knock its pistons against the head when revved.. so, I replaced crankshaft, all bearings, and while there had rings done and valves resurfaced.. goodluck. That guy needs to participate and learn to maintain properly a bike, not just 'look cool on a Guzzi'..

It's a CA78, not CA77. Honda changed the designation in 1965. Check the serial number on the frame, near the left side center mount.

I've got those little wheels but I don't like the idea of small particles getting in my engine. I would feel much better about holding a towel on the inside and spraying the edge with brake cleaner. How well does brake cleaner loosen the stuck on gasket?

My brother bought a Honda Dream to ride. I was 14 at the time and we lived on a farm. My brother made me get on it, told me to give it some gas and let out the clutch. I lived on a farm so there were many fields linked together. I had no idea where the brakes or shift or where any controls were , except the throttle. And here I was riding a Honda Dream down through the fields. I was able to turn around and go back up to the barn. When I got there, the only thing I knew how to do was to turn the key off to stop. It scared the heck out of me. I also loved the experience. I'm 69 years old and still love riding motorcycles and yes, I own a Honda.

Hi, i was wondering how you tackled ricks rectifier/regulator .i see two wires (assuming positive & negative)but there should be a third brown wire for a fuse box and main switch. How were those items connected to the rectifier?

Good job, young man. That's a lot of work and it turned out to be a nice clean build. You took your time to do it right. Word of caution: don't leave the voltage regulator (or is it the rectifier) cable hanging under the bike. If it snags on some debris, you lose charging capability or worse, you lose all power if the positive grounds to the frame. Kudos on the build.
