Where did you purchase the radiator and is it a single core or dual core?

Next time you're doing coolant leak checks you should do distilled water or something and save that precious coolant. As for your no heat situation it may be not enough coolant in the system, your thermostat that you just changed which would be unfortunate and/or your heater core is blocked/shot which would also suck. Maybe the whistling you're getting is indicative of obstructions causing the blower motor to work harder. Sorry I've got no definitive answers for you because here in Barbados we just remove the heater core hoses and run a loop on the engine block because we always have warm weather so literally no need for heat.

This is great, im doing the exact same thing with my e84 but I'm wondering if you also disconnected the car battery before unplugging stuff? I'm doing the dashboard and not sure if I can unplug the AC safely just having the car off.

I watch this wondering where the leaves end up between my dash and windshield on the interior. They blow in from the bed through the open sliding rear glass. My conclusion is I need to find something better to worry about than those leaves if they're not actually damaging. Maybe I can just turn on the blower and use some compressed air?

I saw a post somewhere of a single din android install in an Evo that looked good, I can't find where. I know single is harder to use in map view, but there's something cool about keeping the oldschool proportions instead of a large modern screen. Right now I just have the little lightweight Alpine amp in the glovebox. Connects to phone via aux and powers the factory speakers through oem harness. Sounds great if you EQ a ton of bass boost on your phone. No UI, no controls, looks like as if I did a radio delete. If I did a headunit it would be this or the powerful Sony ones. I'm also exploring underseat subwoofer options. I tried the spare tire JBL one which sounded great EXCEPT for the fact that the Evo trunk floor creaks at loud volumes.
@RyneDickens
@RyneDickens 12 күн бұрын
Oh really? And yea! I am really not a fan at all of those giant ass screens people put in them that takes up the whole dash. I want a screen for things but I also don’t want a tv on my dash. Or an iPad. Haha! I was looking at those little Alpine amps! I was going to run an 8” sub to try and dodge some of the issues I was having with fitting the 10” but then I’d have to buy a new amp too haha. I already had these amps and was trying to just use what I had..but the power of them would be a little much for an 8” so I’m kind of down to really only a couple options haha Oh yea? I’m hoping the sound deadening helps stop a lot of that, I put a quite a bit down back there so we will see!
@thirteen12
@thirteen12 12 күн бұрын
@@RyneDickens I think the trunk issue I had was that the spare tire mounted subwoofer was directly shaking these sheetmetal seams that creak at the bottom of the trunk floor. Normal subwoofer enclosures probably won't have this issue. If you press down on the center of the trunk spare tire well with your hand you'll probably hear what I mean. Or maybe it's just my car, who knows.

Yeah, the battery's an Optima. You can mount them upside down. You should give props to the original false floor. In the Ford Pinto the trunk floor doubled as the top of the gas tank. John DeLorean says that saved them $5. Don't ask how it worked. You don't wanna know.

Haha! I do want a hot wire cutter! But, this was on sale for like $19 and I needed it that day lol Also, yes, the Optima batteries are sealed, spill proof batteries and can be laid on their side. As long as its not placed in such a way the terminals could short on something.

It will be yes, most of the time, sometimes I run it without rear seats, etc. But, also, it’s one of those snowball things, we did the trunk so I wanted it all to be uniform. I didn’t like the patchy look from the old sound deadening being removed..so on and so on. Plus, my ocd just likes it better all fresh, protected and painted haha! I’m not sure I know what you mean? It may be different on a 2023 also, but in general and in my experiences, if you’re pulling on a panel and it’s not coming off with a little bit of force then it’s screwed on somewhere. Most trim panels just pop out with a little bit of force in interiors. 🤷🏼‍♂️
