The intention of the bucket is to catch the lint. Once filled with water it will draw the lint into the bucket itself, no need for an additional filter. It would not be advised to attach panty hose directly to the duct as the duct can become quite hot and panty hose is made of nylon

I tighten the clamp on the back of the dryer and it can easily be pulled off.

Hello and thank you for your question. This product is not intended for gas dyers due to the possibility of a Carbon monoxide leak. This product will not completely seal out these types of possible fumes, and therefore it was deemed safe only for electric dryer use.

When I need to clean out my dryer vent tubing, will I be able to get past the vent blocker? I currently use the brush with extension rods that goes on my drill and is inserted into the dryer vent from the outside of my house.

Hello and thank you for your question. You will be not be able to use the cleaning brush from the outside of your house as the draft blocker will not allow the brush to go past where it is attached. our recommendation would be to remove the draft blocker from inside the house before using the brush to clean out the vent. Once finished, simply reattach the draft blocker.

The trap door is not sealed, so I have dust all over the basement, and it doesn't matter how clean the filter is. I don't recommend it if you don't like dust everywhere.

Can't get the top part secured. The weight of the exhaust pipe pulls it out. Tightening further causes both the elbow and the exhaust pipe to crimple.

You can shorten the duct by using tin snips to cut it to the proper length. Make sure to wear gloves to protect your hands when doing this.

Great product. I just installed this on my vent. It was easy to apply and the vent veins worked great....I would gladly pay more for a better gasket sealing system. The pre-measured gasket fits perfectly but you only need one and end up throwing the other 2 away. I also wish the gaskets were more dense as they are only weather proof, not water proof.........these gaskets are essentially foam and will eventually saturate with water. None the less an easy product to install.

I recently installed this in my soffit and the door remains open after the dryer stops. Kind of a pain to have to go out and close it manually with a 30' pole each time. Is it defective? Do you have any suggestions?

Hello and thank you for your question Recessed Dyer Vent Box. The Recessed Dyer Vent Box was designed to accept the 4 in. dryer vent hose. It may take a little bit of adjusting to make it fit properly to the adapter, but the 4 in. dryer vent hose is the proper size for this product.

I can't get my elbow to go over the dryer vent. Both are 4" and are the same exact size apparently so the elbow won't slide over the vent like this video. 😥

Hi Vernon. Thank you for your question. I believe you may have a second floor laundry in which case the duct goes directly out through the floor below (to an exiting ductwork) or out through the wall. In which case, this product will not work for those types of applications solely due to the short length of the duct itself. This product is works for ductwork exiting from above so you have the room to mount the product slightly above the dryer so you have access to the unit in order to clean the screen after every dryer cycle.

As with all hard pipe installations, you would need to loosen the clamp and disconnect the duct from the dryer or the wall before being able to pull the dryer away from the wall

Thanks for your feedback on this product. Condensation will build up from time to time due to the water and heat mixing. Adding to much water to the cannister can also cause moisture accumulation.

Indoor dryer venting in general will never meet code as building codes require a dryer to be vented outdoors. This product provides an option for those instances where outdoor venting is not possible. Also, this product should only ever be used with electric dryers and not gas dryers.

None of our products contain a metal screen. On the 5" and larger versions there is a built in plastic pest screen behind the cap to prevents pests from entering. This would be a fire hazard on 4" caps used for dryer venting purposes as lint could build up on the screen. We do offer 4" products with a removeable and cleanable pest screen but this product is not one of them.

If the surrounding soffit is vented to keep the attic air clean and dry the moisture from this vent, servicing a bathroom or clothes dryer, could allow moist air to be sucked into the attic and promote mold growth. Study the air flow.

@@DundasJafineInc The center isn't falling out ... the entire defuser falls out because the metal clips don't have nearly enough pressure to keep in within the flange. I've tried double-sided tape all along the flange, but that was just as useless.

Can this product be modified to use it as a manual backdraft damper? Do you have another plate I can put inside to stop the hot air from coming inside the cold dryer when it's not in use during hot Florida summer, causing heavy condensation in the dryer? I wouldn't mind replacing such plate with your filter before drying of each load of laundry and switching them again after the dryer was used as it would save my dryer from condensation which happens only during July - September. I don't want to use the butterfly kind of backdraft damper as I didn't find a single one of them that would be highly rated - they all malfunction.

They do make a diverter that opens to allow hot air from the dryer into the room, so you could use that to block outside air and open it whenever you have to run a load.

Both caps have that "groove" all around the outside of the cap, although this may be more visible in the video on the black version simply because of the color. This groove is a recessed caulk edge that helps to guide the caulking gun around the cap and assists in a clean caulking application

This product gets attached to the hard metal pipe that would be running through the top of the box (already installed) and shoud be visible in the cavity of the box. This connector clamps to that pipe and then the flex dryer duct can be twisted onto the end of the connector and attached to your dryer

In the video they only have about half an inch of the vent pipe protruding into the box. On mine I've got about 4 inches of pipe visible in the box. Plenty of space for a clamp.
