Im 62 yrs old and have owned 67 gto, a 69 and 2 70 gtos! Im still in love after all these years! Theres alot of good looking muscle cars but the GTO is my true love!

0-60mph in 20 seconds lol, those were some shitty motors, the 4.9 in itself was bad, but yeah lets add a turbo to it..........Other side those cars were good looking, and handled incredible for the weight........ gm tried but failed to save the brand..........

Hell it got to sixty right lol im just picking on the car as nice a car as they were it was definitely underpowered i remember riding in one saying what thats it really wtf for all that money my pos shitbox i threw together w a motor from an old grand prix would eat that trans am up easily and it did many of them along with camaros and mustangs alike but that was then and so it was nice car tho awsome survivor for sure keep it all together brother

When I was much younger a fellow kid started bragging about his (Daddy bought) Tans AM and made sure I was in the conversation. I told him I would let him stay ahead until his full boost light came on at which point I would pass and walk away. My '57 Chevy did not let me down (thank God) and it went as described.

Is it not possible to modify the waste gate and run the boost up a few pounds?

Why no turbo lights?

it's sad that the lights are the only thing that works. could have been a good motor if given time to develop.

many yrs ago I had a non-turbo 301 T/A with a 4 speed and 3.42 rear gear, it was dead stock except for the dual resonator 400 style exhaust, it was SLOW as fuck but could still easily beat my brothers 80 Z-28 that was a 350 w/automatic. that car was a ton of fun, beat it like a red headed step child and it never missed a beat

these cars may be slow by today's standards. but you can't duplicate the look. pure cool . the look will never go out of style.

I got an 1980 lemans with an 3.8 ltr V6. Lookin' for an 5.7 (350) or 6.6 (400).

I got rid of my 301 none turbo about 5 years ago for a late low compression 400 with a few simple performance mods like headers, true duals, decat and all the emissions stuff scrapped. Its putting out about 210hp but i still want more so im now looking at buying a heavily modified ram air 4 engine which has been stroked to 461. Theres not many Pontiac engine builders here in the UK! not so easy to get hold of a decent crate engine. I think the ram air 4 stroker will perform well.

I was gonna say! Sounds far too good to be a 301 I just couldn't believe it! You fooled me with the working boost lights!! Not seen a bird with a working set with a none stock engine before! Very nice.

Nice job Gary and driver!! Wow, I saw 3 1960's there. Wished I would have made there now since for a few years I was the only 1960. Another reason I wished I would have went was because all 3 of them were maroon! Needed some color variation! LOL Maybe I will make it next year.
