Just bought a new Ar... Haven't shot it yet. I cleaned it and lubed it yesterday because I plan on hitting the range soon. After cycling the charging handle I noticed a friction smell. I took it out and noticed the finish was already wearing off. Is that normal? The bolt and everything else works. But the charging handle is very stiff and takes some force.

Just run a smaller profile rear iron sight or run an optic with a backup RMR. Theres no practical need for an iron sight on a belt fed. It’s a support weapon. Find a different backup
