Something isn't right with your setup, not sure what that is, but I just tested that exact save position from HL Alyx and there are no drops in FPS and latency, really took my time to be on the exact spot, did all sorts of things around it and it just didn't happen, 90fps and around 30 latency, on AV1 codec though (I tested H264+ and 500mbps with various games and AV1 just performs better in my case), cpu is 7800x3d and GPU is 7900xtx, what is more interesting is that the router is Archer 5400AEX, but for some reason Quest3 can't see 6E so I had to enable 5Ghz and coonect Quest3 to that one, it's on 2400 mbps (Quest 3 says it's type 6E, but VD reports it as 5GHz 2400mbps), if you are really curious I can record a video, let me know, it's not a problem to record it.

Nice video, You can hold down the flat button on the right quest controller and look in the direction you want to centre it to, or you can bring up the steam vr panel whilst in game with the flat button on the left controller and centre it from the horizontal menu panel, or you can assign a button in AMS2 to centre your view. Also, you can navigate the menu whilst in game by using the mouse, much eadier and faster. 😊

These tech reviewers need to start showing how they test the CPU as well as the frame time graphs. There is no doubt the averages and even the 1% are good on the x3d but there is enough rumbling about these dips to the point that if it weren't the case, it should be clear in frame time graphs. I was going to get an x3d but heard about this and the rabbit hold goes deep, so I'm going to stick with what I know works and hold my money.

@gamingsessions7716 күн бұрын
@@paulm1606 thanks Paul for the question and for subscribing. So it really depends on the game you are playing. So if you are playing a slow pacing game like Alyx then you can use AVI possibly though I would still argue it’s better to use h.264+ and I also have a video on the channel demonstrating why. For fast game like race simulations you should definitely pick h.264+ every time cause it benefits from the less compression. Thats what AMD mask, 1% low is ok but 0.1% is trash.

Significant downgrade in multicore, going from 20 cores to 8... This will effect certain games that are heavily multi-threaded such as UE 5.1 games. 9800X3D drops below 60 in populated areas in Stalker while the 14700K does not. You are basically giving up generations of multi-core performance for a slight bump to your framerate but only if you have 4090 and play at 1080p low. At 1080p/1440p/4K at Ultra all these chips are the same except in heavy multi-core loads where the X3D chips fall behind. Don't get me wrong X3D chips are amazing no doubting that, but "upgrading" from a 14700K to a 9800X3D is laughable.

I did notice that as well and it does depend on the type of game you are playing as well. But it seems the difference is not that significant.

Well, and I was considering to change my 14700k for this. Not sure now, but mainly playing cs2 and pubg and x3d chips show really high numbers in fps shooters...
