Term "clean coal" makes sense only when carbon capture (CC) together with other technologies captures 100% of all pollutants and use them in such way there r not released to be harmful to the environment and ultimately to us. What's bad for nature is even worse and more harmful for us! Also let's not forget that using captured CO2 and other chemicals to extract even more fossil fuels which will add even more CO2 and other pollutants into the mix cannot be called by any means "CLEAN"! All fossil fuels locked in their natural state deep underground r not harmful to the environment and to us. Historical evolution of the planetary supersystem and nature as part of it clearly shows why fossil fuels don't grow on trees or float in the oceans and instead r locked deep underground far away from life and living things our planet uniquely provides.

96% of all hydrogen worldwide is produced from Methane. It is more polluting than if it was used directly as a fuel. No Carbon Capture and Storage is used

Very informative. Liberty Fuels Kemper County Ms. Millions of dollars invested, the mine began operations and was forced to shut down. One of the largest Lignite deposits. Estimated 30 year supply on the surface. So many potential jobs lost. Now their tearing the whole facility down . Save the world , carbon footprint, climate change nonsense

Hydrogen will never fail to show up its poor energy density per unit volume, its nonideality due to lightness and smallness, its 3.42 times higher specific heat capacity than that of cooling water, inversion temperature of 196K. Commercially hydrogen is coproduced by catalytic steam reforming of Methane component of Natural Gas in a majority and rest coming from Methane pyrolysis, coal gasifiers, water electrolysis, dehydrogenation of Ethane/Propane/Ethyl Benzene, nuclear industry and Electrolysis of brine or Chloroalkali process. Recent media reports finding Natural Hydrogen or White/Gold Hydrogen deposits 1.2-1.5km underground possibly by mechanisms like Schikorr reaction, serpentinization, interaction of iron-rich rock with water. Methane is the richest source of derived Hydrogen having as high as 25% Hydrogen mass fraction in it. Water splitting ideally needs 7.7 times more energy than what is needed for Methane pyrolysis. Methane will always remain as the major source of Hydrogen and Hydrogen will never become the major fuel for transport vehicle, kitchen stove fuel, water or room heating fuel and power generation.

Britain from 1800 to 1900. 20,000 Waterwheels decreased in number. Windmills decreased in number. Englishman Thomas Newcomen's 1,500 Atmospheric Pumps disappeared. Scotsman James Watt's 500 Steam Engines and their descendants increased in number to 10,000,000 !!! For every SINGLE Waterwheel in 1800 we now had an additional 500 Steam Engines in 1900 !!! That's an increase in Power Capacity for the whole country of 500 times !!! In one human lifetime. No need for flowing rivers of water for each one either, so they could be sited anywhere. This WAS the Industrial Revolution, it was a Power Revolution. And it was all due to only one single Invention. James Watt's Invention of the world's first PRACTICAL Steam Powered Engine.

How do you store and transport hydrogen on a continental industrial scale? In 2022 the USA consumed 7.5 billion barrels of petroleum, 65% of which is used for transportation needs or roughly 5 billion barrels per year for transportation. Each barrel of oil contains about 6 billion joules of energy so we will need 30 billions of billions of joules to supply the current transportation needs of the USA for the current year. This is 30x10^18 joules per year or 30 petajoules (30,000,000,000,000,000,000 joules) to electrify the current US transportation fleet for a year. There are 3.6x10^6 (3,600,000 joules of energy in each KwH of electricity so we need 8.3x10^12 (8.300,000,000,000 or 8.3 Trillion) KwH of electricity per year to move ourselves and our stuff around in the USA at 2022 levels. We currently consume over 4.2 trillion Kwh of electricity per year in the USA. To both make our electricity needs and our fuel needs for our cars, trucks, trains, planes, and ships to run on hydrogen we will need to triple this current level to a production rate of 12.5 trillion KwH per year (1 Kw = 1.34 hp) Tell me how we obtain enough "green" hydrogen to supply the USA with 12.5 trillion KwH of energy per year without completely destroying the entire natural ecosphere of the USA? 238 kJ/mole of H2 or roughly 15,000 moles of H2 per KwH. The IPCC theorizes that if the entire Earth's population ceased using all fossil fuels starting tomorrow, the Earth's average atmospheric could be lowered by 0.13 degrees by 2100 but this would take several thousands of years for it to take effect due to the thermal inertia of the oceans that contain hundreds of times the heat content of the atmosphere. The entire "green energy" issue is simply a trope for socialist slavery, nothing more.

A steam engine provides Steam Power. Newcomen's pump provided Atmospheric Power, air pressure. It was an Atmospheric Pump. James Watt dumped Newcomen's Atmospheric Power and Arkwright's Water Power for Steam Power. To achieve this he had to Invent the world's first PRACTICAL Steam Powered engine. Then? The Industrial Revolution. The cylinder pulled down ? Atmospheric pressure pushed Newcomen's piston down. Watt didn't improve Newcomen's atmospheric pump, it couldn't be improved.

It could be sold at all gas stations right now and we can keep driving our current vehicles. There would be no infrastructure change and you can drive your current vehicle. What the hell is wrong with all these damn stupid liberal government people? And when they die they should be hauled to the graveyard in electric driverless hearses.

The speaker is quite right saying hydrogen is the most abundant element on the planet - but unfortunately another element or two is always attached to it and it takes more energy to split the hydrogen away before it can be used as an energy source.

Modern technology can be used to farm methane with your kitchen waste in two one cubic meter plastic containers. You can compress those methane fully automated into a light-weight, installable propane tanks for charging your Aptera in the backyard 7/24. If you don't use them to charge your Aptera, you can use them to cook your food or warm your house as well. All kitchen waste will become fertilizers eventually, which you can sell/donate to vertical/roof-top organic farms around metropolitans.

By a HUGE margin, water vapor (clouds) is the biggest greenhouse gas. Hydrogen is why the massive nuclear plants melting down blew the containments apart. Do you really want thousands of PSI of this explosive gas stored in your cheaply made car in your garage under the kids' bedrooms? Why not just fill the garage with gasoline vapors or leave the BBQ grille propane tank valve open in the garage to blow the house apart?
