The struggle to pronounce Majapahit is real 😂 Anyway, Majapahit kingdom a.k.a present day Indonesia was colonized by the Dutch for hundreds of years, it probably reached Europe through the Dutch.
death is a part of life. death is not any sensitive subject.

You made it so easy to understand with just 11 mins vid! The son of man art always make me feel something. quite comfortable and peaceful. with your analysis that says everything in this picture contradicts one another it makes more sense why i feel comfy while looking at it. it feel like it is represents the feeling of not belonging anywhere and nothing around feel real and make any sense. I like how straight forward this painting is and how mysterious it is at the same time. The painting could have been so boring if there's nothing to cover their face. also Why your channel is so underrated!!? you got new sub man. keep going!

You'll meet many just like me Upon life's busy street With shoulders stooped and heads bowed low And eyes that stare in defeat Or souls that live within the past Where sorrow plays all parts For a living death is all that's left For men with broken hearts

Hup Oh, the power to be strong And the wisdom to be wise All these things will come to you in time On this journey that you're making There'll be answers that you'll seek And it's you who'll climb the mountain It's you who'll reach the peak Son of Man, look to the sky Lift your spirit, set it free Someday you'll walk tall with pride Son of Man, a man in time you'll be Though there's no one there to guide you No one to take your hand But with faith and understanding You will journey from boy to man Son of Man, look to the sky Lift your spirit, set it free Someday you'll walk tall with pride Son of Man, a man in time you'll be In learning you will teach And in teaching you will learn You'll find your place beside the ones you love Oh, and all the things you dreamed of The visions that you saw Well, the time is drawing near now It's yours to claim it all Son of Man, look to the sky Lift your spirit, set it free Someday you'll walk tall with pride Son of Man, a man in time you'll be Ooh Ooh, yah-oh Ooh, yah-oh Ooh, yah-oh Ooh Son of Man Son of Man's a man for all to see

Subbed, thank you, I was intrigued with blue rain coat for a long time, that was the one that won my heart and L.Cohen as cantauthor...It is very much interesting how we can pick up the meaning by the vibe itself is the artist wanted so....wow...thank You

The Scream is - I think - an example of how to market an image. His true brilliance was recognizing he had touched the zeitgeist, and then making sure the image stayed there. I have little right to suggest it, but I think he would have been forgotten had he himself not carefully and deliberately nurtured his product in the marketplace and in the publics imagination.

As with all good enigmas, false clues abound. For me, Magritte speaks, in this painting, of what is all the time before our eyes and yet we do not perceive it. The obvious, which only certain yogis, saints and shamans see.

Whatever the academic consensus reading of this painting is (never wanted to distort my own view in this manner;), to me it's always been the apple of knowledge. Mainly scientific knowledge that obscures our perception of things to such an extent that we are no longer able to see what we are looking at. Words, concepts, principles, physical properties and speculative correlations.. and suddenly the thing, on which our gaze is resting, is written down as a formal formula (look at the clothes), reduced to an impersonal content. The wall between our understanding and things has been there all the time (phenomenology makes good use of that notion; phenomenon, φαίνω - gr. to appear) , and behind every single thing there's an ocean we can never fathom.. Such an interpretation would even be parallel to the general readings of Magritte's more obvious paintings, like "This is not a pipe" or a "Not to be reproduced" (double meaning: forbidden to be reproduced or impossible to do so).

Some interesting observations, but by referring to the man as "elegantly" dressed, you miss a main point. The man is not elegantly dressed, but dressed, rather, as plain office clerk, a functionary, as anonymous as the similarly outfitted men 'raining' down in the "Golconda", or any number of Magritte works with this male figure.

For me, the idea is that most people ignore what’s right in front them (the apple) because they’re so obsessed with things beyond their perception & understanding (the face).

Why is it called "The Son of Man" and what is the significance of the apple? The esoteric answer to this lies back in ancient Croton in Southern Italy where the indulgence of the local tyrant enabled the mathematical and philosophical school of Pythagoras to exist. Mathematics and knot-making were tricky pursuits which could get you killed for practising witchcraft and the Pythagorean sect was for this reason secretive. How did they identify one another? By offering a half apple, cut horizontally, showing the pentagram (In Our Time, radio 4). Maybe Magritte thought God might just be a old man.

The fact the artist sow his mother's suicide when her dress was over her face and he was only 14 years old... The fact that he reduces his pain through painting and I remember the artist Ahlam Mostaghanemi who says exact words that explain his feelings: “Something in my childhood happened without me even realizing it! Everything will revolve around it until the last moment of my life”.

One thing for sure, this painting triggers my OCD in a different and weird way. The floating apple infront of his face, the unbottoned button, he seems to be hiding his left hand for whatever reason, maybe it's the button of his clothes that came off, cause someone this fancy for a photo is highly unlikely not to check himself if his suit is buttoned. But then again, why IS his elbow pointing away to the sea? For all we know this might just be real. Just some tall man who wants to take a photo but his bad luck and calamities refuse to give him that. The broken button, the bad weather, if the apple is in motion and is falling, then we can assume this is a bad day for him to take a picture. This is just my thoughts, I'm not good at art.

He's probably hiding the button in his left hand and trying to hide it which kinda explains why his elbow is pointing in a different direction.

The Son of man is about a man about to fall backwards after being struck by an apple in the face. Metaphor for Adam and the Apple.
@deborahriley73552 жыл бұрын
Paid in full is what Yahshua did for Him. The fall: is also Adam's original sin Leonard Cohen returned to God. The whole album You Want It Darker is about the real meaning, or lack thereof, depending on your faith in YHVH or lack there of...

Cohen found meaning of life in the midst of defeat. Accepting his fatality freed him from the burden of trying to justify his own existence.
@deborahriley73552 жыл бұрын
There is no meaning without knowing the Creator and being in relationship with Him. Our sin separates us from the Holy One. God must judge sin. But He put all the judgment on His Son, Jesus. He paid the penalty that we deserved. Read Isaiah 53. Read John 3 We need to acknowledge that we've sinned and to turn from sin and put our trust in Him: surrender our lives to His Lordship.

Maybe he's a banker who loves apples. Maybe he's a banker who invested in an orchard. maybe maybe maybe it's all just interpretation. The trick here is the open loop. There is no answer. The mind wants to close open loops.

In the first light their is no darkness, so time does not exist. The sun in the sky also known as the morning star is the sun of man. Symbol for change is the sun rising in the West. China and Russia have nuclear infused suns. As the masses are distracted by these suns the sun of man will fall from the East. The spirit giving life is not man, but Nature. Her name is Mama Nature and means Spirit is Highness. Mother Nature means Spirit is Matter. The name of a man who comes to claim Mama's place. He already has. See the many serve the sun of man? Aka son of man. Sunday worship.

Also disconcerting is the shifting perspective. The figure and background appear flat - as if seen through a telescopic lens - while the lines on top of the wall indicate an extreme wide-angle perspective with a vanishing point (sea facing?) somewhere behind the figure.
