I ran the Kiddieland trains for 23 seasons 1968 through 1990.

What an interesting locomotive I wonder if MKT 142 is an operating condition and I remember seeing the F40PH number 310 when it was leased to Texas Trinity Railway express back in 2020
@Train258924 күн бұрын
from what the railroad has said, 142 will be operating this Christmas for their Santa Rockets. it was rumored to be running this weekend but that doesn't appear to be the case
@TexasRailfan21-RailfanRyan21 күн бұрын
@@Train2589 this is a very unique engine it’s an Alco RS-3 redesignated as an RS3M rebuilt with an EMD prime mover and in this case it looks to be the back hood of a GP7 or GP9
@Train258921 күн бұрын
@TexasRailfan21-RailfanRyan I used to help run 142 from 2015-2019 when it was still the volunteer operation. It's a very tired locomotive that needed a break bad. At one time it was our only working locomotive out of the trio
@TexasRailfan21-RailfanRyan21 күн бұрын
@@Train2589 very cool and you also have the leased F40PH number 310 I was fortunate to see it in action when it was leased to Texas Trinity Railway express today TRE now has two rebuilt by progress Rail numbers 330 and 331 engine 330 is unique because it’s got an older style of mechanical bell both engines are equipped with the most recognizable horn on an F40PH locomotive each have a Nathan P5 horn which are the backbone horns on the units used by Chicago Metra and they will continue to operate for 10 years sadly in the next two years some major changes will come to North Central Texas one of the biggest and saddest changes is the retirement of the F59PH Locomotives 120 through 126 and F59PHI locomotives 569 and 570 they will receive new charger locomotives by the year 2026 at this point the days of the F59 locomotives are numbered with an uncertain future for the original flat face bombardiera bilevel cabin cars if they will be replaced by the type 10 cabin cars despite the onslaught of charger locomotives the two rebuilt F40PH locomotives 130 and 131 will soldier on for at least 10 more years until they too will be replaced by two additional charger locomotives I will have two more years to film commuter trains on TRE for two more years before the changes begin

I was in Bonner Springs for when it came out of KC (I got pics of it coming into Martin City and even later when it came over the Independence Ave bridge in KCMO and then union station at 6pm the following day). Unfortunately my pics didn't come out great in Bonner Springs (because my camera malfunctioned) but I had a good time regardless. It seems like once it got out of KCK it was flying on by trying to make up for lost time.

I too like the MPC engines. My Grand Trunk GP 7 wobbled exactly like that when I first got it. Turns out one of the wheels on the motorized truck was not concentric. I took the truck apart, pulled the offending wheel and replaced it. The locomotive no longer wobbles. Evidently mine was not an isolated case. Great layout and great assortment of MPC sir.

Well said. I replied this on your Twitter post, but Tom's knack for storytelling and filmography is what the foundation for our generation's love of O gauge is built upon. From I Love Toy Trains, to the Toy Train Reviews, the Christmas train videos, Tinplate Legends, and his magnum opus - A Century of Lionel Trains, he captured the hearts and imaginations of so many. It's very neat you had the pleasure of meeting him. I hope TMBV can carry on covering today's best layouts in the style we know and love. Or at least, give us a special about the life and career of the man himself.

Where's the evidence? I looked but I did not see any research if Tom McComas died. Did he really die? Is this all a hoax? If not, where's the real information?

Without Tom, I wouldn't have been a avid I Love Toy Trains fanatic to this day or any of his other work like John Deere, Big Machines, etc (he never fails to make us laugh, learn and want more). First Brian McConnachie (headwriter for Shining Time Station) is gone, now Tom. I might dedicate my premiere S3 episode of Great Sodor Engines to his memory as there had been a few occasions where some Thomas models appeared and also mentioned.
