I always felt like SRV was an open medium channeling music seamlessly and effortlessly like no other guitarist has ever done. His vocal was underrated. He died in 1990 at the age of 36 in a helicopter crash, and what more would he have given us had he lived? RIP SRV, TY for the music you left us. Some must listens: Pride and Joy, Leave My Little Girl Alone, Couldn’t Stand The Weather, Little Wing, Ain’t Gonna Give Up On Love, Blues At Sunrise (With Albert King). I enjoyed your reaction, TY.

Hey Alan! I enjoyed this video as well as the reaction to the folk band Elephant Revival’s cover (a personal favorite band of mind). Full disclosure- I’m also writing to you on a random post that I’m sure my mother won’t see 😉. My mother is the lovely HARRIET 😊 aka Stevie Ray Vaughn’s #1 fan- ever heard of the lady? 😂 Well, turns out she’s a big fan of yours! So …congrats you are in excellent company there! I am writing to see if you would consider doing a reaction video to one of her favorite SRV songs “Riviera Paradise”…she mentioned you haven’t done it yet and I know that she would be so delighted! It is her birthday coming up later this month (October 21) so I wanted to try and facilitate a birthday shoutout! 🎉 Think about it? @@alan-reacts65 Here is the funny story. I worked with the bears (I come from Balloch) and the gig was in the 3rd reserve (near the castle, now Cameron House Hotel). In the hospitality the beer was crap (important bit) but the food was good. Loads of people were trying to sneak in and first they chucked their beer over the fence before realising that they were at the wrong compound which was full of bears. 🙂 A couple of people even jumped the fence. The best laxative known to man. We allowed them on the back of the Bedford van to get back over the fence and chucked their carry out back over. Others that just chucked beer pleaded for us to chuck the beer back and everyone said...... Hey boys (we were teenagers) take a couple of cans. By about noon we had loads of tennents lager and Tartan Special so we were very popular in the hospitality tent.

Great reaction👍 This is such an outstanding performance😍❤️ In an interview she said: “Her, she didn't want to be in this world anymore, and she knew that this man would do anything for her. She asks him to kill her and he said: 'OK, I love you, I would do anything for you.' After he killed her, he became sad because she didn't move anymore and he didn't understand where she went. He didn't understand why she left and he start crying. And it is sad, because for the rest of his life, he will not understand and he will be sad." In another interview, she said: "First of all, I have a really vivid imagination. You know that these things may be happening to someone right now. It's kind of a terrifying thought. I just had to get that thought out of my head - and that's why I wrote this song. But the two characters are actually just made up in my head. I've written many songs about them - maybe I'll make a book with them." Please continue this Aurora journey🙏😍 “Through the eyes of a child” live at Nidarosdomen 2017 + the stripped Vevo (acapella) I highly recommend both👍 “The Seed” official video + the live version at Vevo (a stripped down version)😍

She has said that the starting point for this song was a newspaper piece about a husband who had killed his wife to end her suffering rather than let nature take it's course. She often sings in the moment, the bound between her and the song disappears. You see her coming back to our world as the song ends.

Excellent choice and is one of her most (among many) outstanding performances. To have that large audience to where you can hear a pin drop always amazes me and reflects the magnitude of the moment. I have watched this performance many times of the years and still is a gut punch everytime. And very much agree that Ren''s Violet's Tale falls within those tragic boundaries. My teory about this song: Aurora read/hear a story about a man killing his girlfriend/wife, and truly did it because he think that was the loving / mercyfull thing to do. It might be someone dying in pain, mercy killing. But I feel the song is about the strange thing that a human actually can love somebody so much that they are willing to kill them. I have not seen any place that Aurora say that is a true story as far as I can remember.

I looked it up, but can't find the article anymore. Probably because I forgot the exact date. I also think she mentioned it in passing in an interview on NRK. But no matter... it is and remains a heartbreaking song.❤

The song is about active euthanasia. A couple in Norway, she - fatally ill - asks her partner to put an end to it in order to save her from a tormenting death. After hesitation, he agrees and shoots her. She apparently counted down to make it easier for him. But (as far as I know) he was charged with murder and imprisoned. This was reported in the Norwegian press at the time and inspired Aurora to write the song at such a young age, it's a masterpiece. There is also a more opbeat studio version of the song, but in this version here the emotional hammer hits harder.

That adds more to what I thought 😊👍

IT's good that your musical journey found them so early. Time has sidelined them a little, but in their pomp they were a massive band and at a time when records shifted in their gazillions. Deservedly so. Masters of their craft in writing, playing and performing. These songs and their legacy stands up well even today as many YT reactions are proving. It is a joy to me to see them getting recognition on YT reaction channels. You must give the album 'There's The Rub' a listen. Also, given that you like analysing material as you experience it I would urge you to give British prog-metallers Threshold a listen. Theirs is a rabbit-hole you will enjoy disappearing down I think.
