I can't stress enough how much you should watch her perform her song 'through the eyes of a child' live at Nidarosdomen...the entire concert as well is magic but that particular song will show you how talented and how amazing her vocals are. Another is 'the seed'. I discovered her 2 year ago...wish it'd been sooner but I'm still amazed to this day how her own songs can just blast right into your soul and connect on a very real and deep level. She's a global treasure and I think the most sincere and 'real' singer, songwriter and performer on the planet right now.

I guess I won't be able to teach you anything you don't know yet now about Aurora...😀 She's truly astonishing, especially when it comes to live performances. Her musical palette is very wide, she doesn't really care about musical genres, just doing what comes to her, so to speak. Being myself mainly metal, some of the songs of her albums are a bit far from my own taste, even if I enjoy at least most of them, as they have her beautiful stamp. But live she's just mindblowing, you had a glimpse here, and I guess that "a soul with no king" didn't disappoint you (it seems that I read comments...). She tends to vary her live renditions. From slightly, to completely (that generally in live sessions or specific concerts). In this last case it can be instrumentation, tempo, way of singing, even the genre, whatever her inspiration tells her I think). So even the several songs that are difficult to me have a live version that I love... which gives me a huge respect for this lady, and as you read a lot in this section, many feel the same in their own way. Her overall talent, and what she's really made of as a musical artist can't be grasped through only a small handful of songs. Like many others, I hope you'll enjoy travelling the various and always beautiful landscapes of her Queendom, this land of musical plenty she constantly creates, enlarges and embellishes. Thanks for this great reaction to Aurora, this singing little giant so interesting and endearing.🙂👍

Nice reatcion Alan. Aurora is my all time favorite artist (she is 28 now), she writes the most thought provoking dark subject matter songs that she shines a light on in the darkness, she is untouchable in her songwriting, IMO. She is a self taught multi talented artist who is performance art when you watch her live. The pure clarity in her voice is balm for the heart and soul. The only lessons she ever had were approximately 10 years of dance, she is a great dancer too, she taught herself how to play the piano when she found one in the attic at home at the age of 6. Anyway, she has been writing songs from a very young age and has a large discography for you to explore. I would suggest a live Vevo performance of A Soul With No King from her recent album dropped last June. Looking forward to more Aurora on your channel, hope to see you soon.

I see you say you're going to do A Soul With No King. The live Vevo performance of that, is one of the greatest live performances I've ever seen and heard. Aurora has got a big back catalogue. What I will say, is her live performances are generally best, and no 2 are the same. If I say, for a long time, the Cocteau Twins, and Elizabeth Fraser, were probably one of my all time favourites, you know I know the history of Teardrop. In some ways, Aurora is the Elizabeth Fraser of the 21st Century. They are very different, but very similar singers. Liz often sang meaningless and unintelligible lyrics. Whereas Aurora writes clear lyrics, and her diction is some of the clearest of any singer. But they both have unique, and influential singing styles. Billie Eilish, credits hearing Aurora's, Runaway, as inspiring her to start a career in music. Look it up, she says it a number of times. Elizabeth Fraser and the Cocteau Twins, were massively influential.

She just released her 4th album in June (and she also turned 28), and she also has 2 EPs released previously. She writes her own music and lyrics with co-writers on a few songs. She is very known for her amazing covers, many of them as challenges by radio stations with very little rehearsing, and she often changes the songs to her own style. This performance is from January 2017, and it was the first time she sang this song. They didn't say in the interview, but it would not surprise me if this was one of those "challenges" and only rehearsed briefly at the radio station. She performed the song only once more in March 2020. Here are some examples of her covers: The Beatles - Across The Universe (also on triplej), David Bowie - Life On Mars (channel NRK), Imagine Dragons - Believer, Ariana Grande - God Is A Woman, Harry Styles - Golden and many more, around 30 covers.
