I really enjoyed the game in the Early 2000's. And now no longer have access to a GameCube. I own the 3ds version and even tho many say it's subpar compared to original, I appreciate being able to play Luigi mansion regardless. The 3ds is competent enough to play old school Jams. I hope they make it accessible on switch or switch 2. Many youth today never had the pleasure of playing. So keep on gaming in the Free world.

This is my favorite part of this game by far. I got more interested in perfecting my setup and getting a larger collection of games a few years ago, and this was the first thing I played after getting a component cable for my Wii. Seeing Wuhu Island at night, without the fuzziness of the standard composite video cables, just made me appreciate the world they created even more. I honestly wish there wasn’t a time limit, so I could just fly around for as long as I wanted

I was writing a really long comment detailing my thoughts on most of the games mentioned, but I accidentally closed youtube and lost it all. The gist was essentially: I hadn't noticed until now how much I gravitate towards sequels. Tropical Freeze and Thousand Year Door being some of my favorites that weren't mentioned. I thought it was kinda funny how similar our tastes are, especially with Galaxy 2 and Wii Sports Resort in the same video. As I hopefully branch out and try more stuff, it's also only going to get more alike by the looks of my backlog. To give 2 examples of many, I'm currently in the middle of playing through Banjo Tooie and Pikmin 2 for the first time, so I thought it was funny those were also both mentioned.

Skyward Sword honestly has the best dungeons and story in the entire series. The water colour art style and orchestral soundtrack are standouts too. The only thing that holds it back are the fetch quests and backtracking in the 3rd act.

I honestly liked the SNES version more. Maybe because it was one of the first games I played as a kid. Don't know, just something about the N64 version did not sit well with me. It being a remake (or rather a reinventing) of the SNES version, retconning many things (like making the Starfox team mercenaries) was just a bit of a let down for me. The music was better in the SNES version and the planets and sectors had a bit more flare to them.

I think most of the criticisms of BT come from people playing it as adults. Backtracking for example may be annoying if you want to get the game done quickly and basically already know what to do, either from previous runs or just general game sense. But as a kid, it was super cool that there were connections between the levels, and to figure them out, or talk with friends and share ideas. I'm genuinely torn about whether I prefer BK or BT. BK has the edge of being the first, but both are excellent games. They are simply very different.

Having been spoiled by Melee's adventure mode, I've always been a bit disappointed with the later Smash Bros releases not having something equivalent. Sure the subspace emissary was cool the first time you play through it, but IMO the replayability is much lower than Melee's adventure mode due to how long it is. It can feel like a chore to have to traverse again, whereas Melee's adventure mode is the perfect length for replayability since it can easily be completed in a single play session and even incentivizes players to complete it using different characters.

Tooie was much harder and had too much backtracking. I preferred the first one.

I gave Tooie another chance inspired by these videos. OMG How hard to remain optimistic, I remembered why I stopped playing at world 1 the first time and stopped again at world 1 😂 Sorry guys. Kazooie is in my top 2 best games with Zelda OoT while Tooie is not even something I wish to play. No other franquise ever gave me these diverging feelings about their sequels

That one hit knock down attack in Title Defense is just.. So good ! It's really fitting ! And well.. That gun shot sound as you get hit, well it almost makes me want to get hit ! They really gave it their all on this one attack !
