My reign of terror lasted from 1969 thru1994, when softball was the only game in town, where everbody played back then, & competition 'twas at it's very very best. 🥎 'twas the National Sport & every1 wanted to be like "The Babe". Softball 'twas more popular than baseball way back then. 7,000 games under my belt. Vicious swing where ball radar-off the bat exceeded 120 mph at times. Hit rocket line drives that infielders herd a humming surreal sound soaring past them. Infielders backed up into the outfield when I came to bat, dreading grounders coming their way. Able to hit screaming liners with any pitched ball to any field. Hit thru the ball with intense rage, where softball fans herd balls bang off the fences. At 200' 1 would visually watch softball take flight, go airborne, & clear the fence. Hit ball so hard, dented metal bats + warped softball out of it's shape in cool Autumn's nites, under the lights.Possessed world class speed, had a rocket accurate arm that I threw balls in the 90's , World Class Defence Skills, able to play at any position, except pitching. 16" or 12" softball, with or without a glove, swooped balls all up, on base % near perfect, Hit with power, batted clean up, & no 1 was better then me in the clutch under pressure, nobody,! Played for Danan's 16" Softball Team in the Chicagoland area, rated best defensive 16" softball team in the World of Softball. Wisconsin state Champion's for 8 years. Batted 3 for 3 against "King & His Court". Single, double & HR. Be hard pressed to come across any1 with a bag of tools that I possesed. Left many of local hometown favorite hero Champions, crying in shame over their spilt beer at the bar, where hometown team 'twas sponsored. Didn't use no fancy bats or fancy balls just plain 'O Softball Equipment. No 1 tutored me, I learned from my embarrassing missteps that were humiliating. I banged batted balls off the outdoors school wall to perfect my savage swing, played defensive with small bouncy balls that I scooped up & target aimed my ball's precision arm throws on a dime. Seldom showed for any team practice. That's how it 'twas long time ago without cameras, thought the party would never end? "Blast from the Past" SUPER PETE ⚾️

Was this filmed at Delta Park in Portland?

@@BluesMachine999 I finished watching this video today and in the credits it said Facilities: Wallace Marine Park in Salem, Oregon. No biggie. Softball sure has changed with eliminating the HR trot (maybe that is only in the A and Major Division though). I also think hitting back up the middle at the pitcher has been frowned upon - but I could be wrong. I haven't played in years, I just have watched some highlights of the Major division on video.
@BluesMachine9996 ай бұрын
@@jeffmattson5766 I was probably thinking about his weekly tv show filming at Delta. I was a pitcher for over 30 years and I remember all the hits up the middle when they were playing Spin The Clown!!!

Ah the 80s. I used a heavy and dense Bombat in the mid 80s; probably about 33 Ozs. Later I transitioned to Ray's DiMarini Single and Double Wall bats in the mid 90s - 26-28 Ozs. Ray was a pioneer in bat technology and in using lighter weighted bats to increase bat speed and power.

I like the video but it seems like when he hits his front foot lands pointing forward. He says not to have it land like that.

We ( family ) had a chance to eat at his spot in Va. but, I would never spend my money on his food. I rather give my money to another bbq person who has a good personality. Myron is too stuck on himself over food. He’s arrogant and just a schmo. Same thing with Robbie! I wouldn’t let Robbie do any life saving medical stuff. I like competition but hate arrogance.

Crazy that the lightest bat he’d used at the time of this video was 33oz. I’ve never even seen a 33oz bat. Now everyone is swinging 25 & 26 oz bats.

Had my old baseball coach and manager of a slowpitch league that I played in for over 10 years tell me I had the best softball swing he's ever seen after I applied these lessons. He was wrong of course. THE LEGEND in the video is the owner of that title, always, imo. Thank you for the video!!!

Ive watched a thousand videos on brisket/bbq over the past 5 years. Now while I use a Traeger, not a stick burner, just the first 20 minutes of this video I wish I had seen before yesterday...my first attempt at brisket! It sucked and now I know at least a few reasons why! Cant wait to retry using Myron's techniques.

You just don’t see this level of guitar playing in the mainstream music genera’s. There is that verisimilitude that comes across with the blues genera that make it a pleasure to listen to.

Honestly this may work with slow pitch softball but most of this is absolute opposite of what is taught for baseball.
@chrisgehrke9008 Жыл бұрын
That’s why it’s a “softball” video. I thought this, too, until I applied it. We rely on torque for bat speed and pitch speed to help generate pop, in baseball. In softball, you’re hitting cherry bombs, essentially, and you have to find other ways to generate power. A conventional baseball swing still works for contact, in slow pitch, but you have to have some serious upper body strength to clear the fence

I totally disagree. Fat side up! For the first few hrs. Because it DOES render the flavor back into the meat. Not only that, who can afford a wagoo brisket? The whole part of cooking a brisket is the brisket and the temperature your cooking at at what stage. I don't competition cooking. IF your a good cook, you don't inject a brisket. Turkey's maybe, but not brisket. Sorry, if you cook competition for trophies and money, then do what ever trips your trigger. I cook for family and friends and never had an issue. Do you, do you.
