Hi Ruth, I'm also from HK and I'm so used to air conditioning everywhere- would you say it gets really hot during the warmer months?

if there is a heat wave, usually in july/ august, and you have no ac then it will be pretty hot but the avg temp in vancouver is pretty chill so you should be fine🙌

only newer buildings have AC, all buildings include heaters but i believe for year one residence only Orchard Commons have AC. students usually prepare their own fans as the dorms will not provide you one

Hi Which is the nearest dorm to Computer Science building? How much is the monthly rent for the dorm? How far is the distance from the dorm to Computer Science building?

most of the friends i know study comp sci is living in place vanier and its is actually closest to most art and science subjects, around 10-15 walking distance , around 1000 cad per month for a single room in Vanier but 1500cad for including meal plan (which is required to get the)

yeah i used to study ict but i dont think i know anyone that does ict tutoring currently, however you can definitely find a tutor through facebook tutoring group, i am sure you can find the right fit there, hope this helps, cheers!

Which type of meal plan is this? Is it just the required one for freshmen?

apparently those were luch boxes from ubc eats which is not the same as freshman meal plans. Meal plans for first years are for dinning halls, there is “flex dollars” in the meal plan which allows you buy food and pay meals in certain restaurants on campus.
