This is what the term "brothers in arms" is all about. What makes men fight? It's not duty, god and country. It's the guy fighting next to you. You share something, it's a bond that's just hard to really explain to someone who hasn't experienced. I'd put my life on the line to help a fellow soldier if I had to, because I know they'd do the same for me. It's no selfless, it's not your job, it's what you have to do, because they count on you as much as you count on them. When I watch this.... those guys wanted to save Chapman more than they wanted to live, and Chapman wanted to save them more than himself. There's a point where he knows he's going to die... and he is resolved to make the enemy pay as heavily as possible for it, and save as many as he can in the process.

What I don't understand is how the U.S was able to get so many aircraft bombed up, fueled up, warmed up and into the air with crews briefed and oriented in just a couple of hours. I'm guessing intel told them exactly what to expect long before the Russian forces jumped off. If so, it can't have helped that the Wagner forces were commanded by, basically, a Cyrillic Phil Leotardo who probably used his personal cell phone to coordinate everything.

I attended tech school at Shepperd AFB, missile maintenance technician school. The school our building was in was the same building as medical students. Every day as we crossed the flight line walking toward our building we were passed by a group of PJ’s double timing in formation and signing to cadence on their way to their school, which I assume was for their medical training. I gotta tell you I was in envy of these guys and damn proud they represented the same branch of the service that I was in.
