I work at frito lay they just asked me do I want to learn how to move the trailers due to me working graveyard there are only 2 people out of the 10 ppl on graveyard who knows how to drive them. I start learning tm at 2 am when I go in

How do you get into hauling containers? want to get my own truck but mostly looking at a day cab and wanted to stay close to home instead of doing OTR right now. but then later on switching back to OTR

Those are the ones that require CDL. They probably move trailers for one yard to another.

We used to use them for log trailers. No brakes, no lights, no chains, and tyres as bald as f*** on the trailers, (which were all bent and cracked to shit). For a company that has "Home Safely Every Day" on their shirts, kinda bullshit. Up to 40+ tonnes of logs per trailer, on wet and slippery surfaces - not exactly confidence inspiring...

Thank you I will try and practice this. My mentor is a good guy but he didn’t show me how to setup properly he just kind of “winged” it on the backups. I’ve been struggling with tight spots becuase I have limited space but I will keep going 💪🏽

For the situation that guy was in, He somehow maintained all control. That's an experienced and seasoned driver Who's seen his fair share of snowy winters in the rocky mountains. I just hope his company saw the video and agreed with his course of action. Had that guy pitted himself against the semi, it could have killed the driver So good on the trucker, for moving out of the way, even if it risked his own safety.

Truck driver here that's also otr, That's not how dot looks at crashes Regarding semi's. Even a fender bender, the trucker's gonna be looked at as the aggressive party or Whatever word they use. There's a reason for that. When a commercial vehicle is involved in an accident, Dot will immediately come out and do an inspection Because now they have a target. The four wheeler will be given all of the benefits of the doubt While the rig driver will be scrutinized all the way to the end. Dot and police will not even look at the dash cam footage until after the inspection is complete. Do you know why? If they find anything wrong with the truck, Even if its a single light being out, Unless the dash cam footage is very fucking obvious, They will try to charge the truck driver with the accident. They do so by using the failure point in the dot Inspection as the reason In many cases. The driver now has to pay multiple tickets to the state, which will make a fuckton more money for them Compared to the four wheeler. Tldr: State wants their money, Will Conduct dot inspection of commercial vehicle right then, and there. Will find anything they can to blame the trucker Because money in fines Both to driver and company. Basically, the trucker has to take the L at all times Because class D motor vehicle licensees are considered mentally challenged Compared to the "training" and Standards of law to what class A holders have to follow or really any Type of CDL holder. Cameras do make our lives a little easier, But in certain situations it can also make shit more confusing.
