Good technique, if you're too close to park the trailer in a tight spot and if you have to drop the trailer, where is the room to run down the landing gear?(you'll have to squeeze your way in, extra work) unless you roll down the landing gear first just above the ground so they don't scrap, catch and get damaged. Wider spots are better for that reason so you save time and work and the efforts if you have to drop the trailer in a spot.
