Thank you for this video. I was 12 years old, when I, my father and brother return Marienham to Naantali traveling with this ship, Diana II, now almost 50 years, those where lovely memories.

Supposedly, she was actually ordered by a Norwegian Company called Balder Lines, with the name Balder Nor (imaginative, huh?) for a Germany - Norway route, but they withdrew at a very early stage and then handed over the order to Slite, supposedly Sally (who owned the "half sistership" Viking Sally, the later Estonia) was offered the ship first
@TheShipChannel8 күн бұрын
Interesting, I didn’t know that actually 😄

Very good history video! Also in 80s she lost her bow-visor, but a ramp didn’t fall and the ferry stayed afloat until an arrival. This incident is also showing, that this could happen in Estonia’s case. Again, great job, really happy to see a history of MS Diana II on KZbin!

Viking Cinderella is very top-heavy. You can see when departuring when going from side to side. Same in every turn it leans very much to one side.

Probably could have had a few more years sailing if a ferry company was successful in acquiring the vessel . Even if a ferry company in the Mediterranean acquired her which often is the case .Looks like a sister ship to a DFDS Copenhagen to Oslo ferry . Seems a waste that she has been scrapped.

That’s correct, her sister is the pearl seaways :)
