Great job - many scissors can require specialized sharpening equipment & special skill. I've had very good results with everyday, household scissors/shears working with the attachment for my KO-3. Did you use a piece of scrap leather to pull the burr off before going to your finishing grit abrasive? I've seen felt pads that attach to a work bench to remove the burr, and of course corks...

Appreciate your tutorials for the Work Sharp. I lost my Ken Onion Ed. during a move and have been learning/working on my TSPROF, KO-3 model. I'm thinking of replacing my W. Sharp, especially after seeing you with the 3-D printed platen-like add on. It could be a real time saver reprofiling, etc. It's such a joy to use properly sharp shears, knives, and so on. Thanks & take care...

Awesome video I like your idea of using grip tape on the magnet. I am definitely going to give that a try. As far as the pricing goes on magnets, I was shocked to find out that they're very inexpensive at Ace Hardware. A while back, I picked up a large horseshoe magnet for $20.

Well thanks for watching. I needed something to grip those magnets better and thought this would work. It worked well for me on the smaller magnet. I have tried different knobs and just had problems feeling comfortable. We each have to find something that works.

I rarely go to that fine of a belt. I use the belts to death so a 200 becomes a 400 and 600 probably gets to a 1000. Never had anyone complain about it not being not sharp enough because of the grit on the belt. It's the edge angle that matters most. When I do my personal knives I like the edge with some grip to them. But that's just me.

Thanks for watching. I have a 240 grit diamond wheel from Continental Diamond Tools and the standard Wolff Industries honing wheel. I used the standard Wolff 100 grit white stone wheels for a long time. In my opinion they produced a too rough surface for high quality sewing scissors, they are terribly messy and they don't last long enough for a sharpening service. I think I went through a wheel a year when I first got started. I have had the diamond wheel 2 years and it works fantastic. It wasn't cheap. I think $160 but it is so durable. I hope that answers your question.

The chlorine bleach in the detergents are corrosive to stainless steel. That what causes the oxidation and pitting. The dishwasher does not get hot enough to take the temper from a blade as some people claim. They obviously do not understand how hot a dishwasher gets, and what it takes to take the temper out of equality knife.
