Appreciate the insight. I used to be in a space where there's plenty of hustler creatives and e girls and I subconsciously held back in talking to or DMing anybody. It was hard to find out who genuinely wanted to be friends or if I'm just getting hustled. They were good for networks but not for friends. I suppose it's a similar experience from the other side, to a lesser extent lol

I needed this, thank you. I stream as a virtual avatar and even though I avoid any sexual themes, I've ran into weirdos who felt entitled to be toxic to me because they donated. I would never do this prior to the rise of vtubers because every woman knows, growing up in gaming circles is a hell of a ride. It sucks as an indie, but I have blocked and deleted rude ass chatters despite donating to me. I have a career in real life that pays all my bills. A few measly dollars is nothing. The weird men on twitch DEFINITELY target smaller streamers because they know indies are naive. I straight up told someone to get therapy. I've never not watched someone because they had a partner. In fact I think it makes them a better person if they're able to keep relationship in real life. The whole lying about not having a bf is such a guy mindset, like some biological shit or drive to possess a woman.

What you explained is basically every entertainment industry ever. Kpop idols have to also pretend that they are single and that they like interacting with their fanbase whom they've never met. Not trying to compare the two but there are similarities. Maybe you regret it or maybe you don't, but your current financial livelihood is a result of the this field. There are pros and cons to every job, but it's good you made this video for future young streamers that may be looking to get into this field. Best of luck

Thank u for the comment 💕 I do think it’s different w kpop idols bc their fans are young girls mostly and they have to stay single to avoid scandals But for egirls the reason you have to stay single is to appear “available” to adult men if that makes sense

I also think these young girls that are kpop fans also have a perceived notion that these idols are available so it's in the idols' best interest to stay/appear single. Different animal, same beast. Lonely single adult men can definitely be nastier so I do feel for the negative experiences the egirls go through. But at the same time, the premise of the industry is to (largely) attract these men. I hope your perception of men won't be too affected by your experience. The egirl industry is basically a job design to gather all the worse men from across the world. It's like if I only date girls in Miami/LA and just assume all girls are gold diggers and will upgrade their partner at any chance they get

I agree with you, the status quo is insane; colleges want you to have everything figured out before you're an adult. Although debatable, it is true that most potential comes from ambitious people with inertia and direction.
