I love this- I think once you know how to do it it's not risky. Learning can be. I'm 45 and there is a long convoluted story as to why I haven't gotten off the bunny slopes and I've taken about 4 lessons from about 25 until Saturday, when I took my 10 yo for a mommy/me trip. He LOVES it (as I figured), my hubby has a similar story as me-we've always gone together except for this past weekend, so we want to put real effort now into getting into this. I doubt we'll be doing the terrain park tho. Saw plenty of older people on the slopes but more were on skis. They have a discount lift ticket for 70+, lol. If you stay in shape and luck is on your side I can see it. Hoping we can at least get onto higher slopes sooner rather than later.

This was soooo helpful for me!! I am about to take my first snowboarding trip and it’s so overwhelming with all the options and I def need to stay on the cheaper side of things while figuring out how much I want to get into the winter sport.

I just want to look good. There, I said it. My head is slightly large and I don’t want to look like a big head with skis on. I never wore a helmet growing up, no problem. But I think they actually look better and are waterproof, which I like. I rarely fall. I’m not a risk taker. I’m also not a shallow person by nature, believe it or not, just in this one regard. Don’t judge me. Please.

Thats awesome thanks. Im getting back into snowboarding after about 15 years. Do you happen to have an idea about which style goggles are best? And a good budget goggle? If possible id prefer to buy second hand... cheaper. Thoughts? I appreciate any help

Waka waka. I have been welding bridges since I was 19. I’m 37 now. Started snowboarding when I was 33. I have had reconstructive shoulder surgery and two back surgeries. All from bridge injuries. I still go rip!

Rented snowboarding gear my first time. I knew I was hooked and jumped into the deep end. Thankfully I’m fortunate enough to get everything new in one shopping trip. 3 seasons later and I have 4 snowboards. I think I have a problem 😂

Sorry to inform you, but there is no possible human weigh that you were actually in -160° with bare skin and just those little leggings. You would have got serious frostbite immediately on your face. I can seriously appreciate you making a video for people and doing your best. I do not mean to show respect for your efforts. Take care

Nice. I used to rent helmets at ski resorts. But we never know how good they are and how often people have crashed their heads on the ground, which affects their effectiveness. It's definitely worth investing in one.

Any other tips rather than falling on the butt? I definitely did that and have had a coccyx injury for a couple months… still hurts lol🥲 I guess it just comes with practice to not fall very much on your butt. Also, so you ever use padded shorts to prevent injuries like that? Maybe I should get one! Thanks for the video!

I learnt at 19 and did 3 seasons in the Alpes . After that I did 2 weeks holidays every year for the next 11 years . Last 10 years nothing - nada I thought I was over it . I’m now re buying the kit and heading off at 44 . It’s never too old , as long as you have a different approach. I’m not doing the park or off piste anymore but being in the mountains and shredding what I can and taking it easier . I still feel 22 in my mind and soul

The only question left is can you use the top choices with your phone or pad or, or do you have to take them off. It gets so windy here some winters and we end up losing power. It gets really boring if we're snowed on in the middle of the day. You(if you wanna) should make a short testing how they do against a phone.

Taught myself over covid at 47, 3 seasons later I'd consider myself an advanced rider but I gotta be careful doing tricks. I can remember falling day 2 and hitting the ground with my fist frustrated thinking I'll never be able to do this. Now I ride switch, butter, and can do 180s and almost have my 360 dialed in. Great sport. My advice is give it a solid week. I can imagine how hard it would be only going once a month

You are back! Hope you had a good season this year. I bought all the tools I needed to wax my own skis. Certainly saves cost. And most importantly I know my skis from top to bottom. And definitely I love the wax scraping part.
