Great Rock vocalist. There was always so much emotion he was able to put in his voice, even in this cover. RIP JANI. Keep Rocking. Heaven isn't too far away 🤘🏿

Words can't say what Jani could as a natural reaction/ reflex. It was just natural to this dude.

"Washington Square Park" by Jani Lane reflects themes of nostalgia, heartbreak, and reflection. The song paints a vivid picture of the park as a central setting for memories and emotional moments, symbolizing both a physical place and a space in the heart where past experiences are held. It's melancholic yet beautiful, capturing the longing for connections and times gone by. - ChatGPT

WHAT A BLESSING AND CURSE HAVING THE VOICE OF A SAINT AND SO MANY DEMONS CAUSING SO MUCH HEARTACHE AND PAIN!! R.I.P JANIE LANE I HOPE YOU FIND THE PEACE IN DEATH, THAT YOU COULDNT SEEM TO FIND IN LIFE!!!

Takes a helluva songwriter to make the verses a love song & transition to heartbreak in the chorus. Sometimes befuddles me many don’t understand the chorus part in relation to the verses.

As per the band, Jami requested to sing it in a Bowie-esque fashion & they agreed..hence why it doesn't sound like his normal singing style

such a great example of where his songwriting was in his final years. this is such a great song, and the kerri kelli/jani lane songwriting team was capable of tremendous songs.

It was likely Davis Holland, the drummer from Judas Priest that inflicted himself on Jani when he was unconscious, and traumatized Jani enough for him to drink himself to death. Later on he went to jail for inflicting himself on a boy with special needs whom he had been giving drum lessons. It was only a pity that nobody noticed and tossed him out soon enough to prevent what he did to Jani. In any case, he's dead, Jani is dead, and there is nothing left to do now.

Have always been curious what Jani says at the 2:23 mark, just before the solo. Sounds like "EAGER", but not sure.

Solid studio version, complete with SAX! I hear the keyboard but it's more fun to watch Reese Wynans ticklin' the ivories in the "live" version. Also in the live play is the smooth-as-silk guitar replacement after SRV pops a string. Take a look for it; you won't be disappointed. Here they are: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aajSgYmHet13qbM
