Стас, видно на видео как вы похудели! Это только один велосипед или в комплексе еда, другой спорт?
@staskucherenko2 күн бұрын

As a Heavy Dane (Not a Great Dane!) I would have profited from the hill, as I would have had an extra fast start by that, but sadly I didn't see this Event advertised in Denmark??? Why not? We are rather famous when it comes to cycling! Finn. Denmark

It is like an Old-timer Le-Mans Start, where the Drivers had to run to their cars, start and then drive on! I would have loved to Participate on my now - much less than a former 2019 SuperlightM6LXBrompton (below 9 kilo with mudguards, as a Dane!) but my dear Wife has forbidden me to ride in "Areas hit by Obvious Insanity!", and which are riding left, as also our many times visited, Premium, Vacation Place on Malta! So I sadly never managed to ride it on Malta also 🥲! I would most likely have been killed by that? Finn. Denmark

Best bike for people with bad backs. Easy to carry.
@staskucherenko2 күн бұрын
Fully with you! Rolling bike around when folded / semi-folded helps a lot! Plus just carrying the bike while unfolded with saddle or just holding the central tube is reasonably comfortable. I was looking for some options to carry it on the back, like a backpack, but didn’t find any suitable solution so far.

Алексей, привет. Думаю миль 25-30 в час, на маршруте было много достаточно крутых поворотов и не было длинных прямых сегментов , так что вряд ли много людей разгонялись сильно быстрее.

@staskucherenko6 күн бұрын
Thanks a lot for your kind words :) It was a great fun indeed, both the race itself and all the vibe and acitivities around it! Regarding the kilt - I was surprised how comfortable it is as a part of cycling kit, as it can be combined with regular cycling shorts seamlessly! It is indeed probably not the most aerodynamic piece, but given that I am overall as aero as a brick - I guess it didn't hurt all that much :)

@staskucherenko6 күн бұрын
Indeed, it was a really fun experience, enjoyed it a lot! And regarding the freedom - this point also resonated so much with me, it's probably true for any bike, but specifically true for foldable bikes and Bromotons. Since you can bring the bike anywhere and explore - the world is your oyster :)

Today I was coming back from work, when a wild boar appeared on the narrow road. I was able to take a sharp turn on my Brompton and started to cycle in small circles, waiting as this parent-boar helped its younglings in crossing the road. I am clumsy, so if I was driving a bigger bike, I would need to step down from it and walk, hoping boars won't attack. So I highly reccomend Brompton for boar-infested cities.

Have a Brompton M6R and and electric M6R love them both Two things to mention When wheeling in the Supermarket just fold up the handlebars and push in front of you with the handlebars Full puncture repair is possible with the rear wheel in the folded position Either front or back wheel Much more stable than with the bike upside down as I see most people do 😊
@staskucherenko19 күн бұрын
Great points, thanks for sharing, Dave! Also pushed the bike via handlebars while folded, super stable and convenient indeed! Didn’t try to do puncture repair while folded, but also makes sense to me.
@TiberiusWallace21 күн бұрын
Another option is you can hang a backpack over the handlebars at the front of the bike and pull the straps and waist and sternum staps tight. It will stay there but you can't leave it on when you for the frame round because it over balances. It's a good option if you went out with a backpack on and ended up buying something uncomfortably heavy.

Great, honest video. I was going to buy a Brompton last month but then realised I only wanted a folding bike to fit in the boot of my car and not in a train or plane so I bought a Dahon Vitesse with a 7speed Nexus hub gear instead for half the price of a Brompton and the 20” wheels more stable

I simply do not like the ride quality of the small 16 wheels on the bike, the shocks go into my brain.
@staskucherenkoАй бұрын
Hi C Lee, thanks for your comment. That’s a fair one, the amount of vibration getting into rider’s hands on a Brompton is quite sizeable. There are ways to manage it though -titanium fork on P lines is helpful to dissipate vibration, plus upgraded grips (like Ergon GP3 I am using) can also help quite a bit.
@allanb2906Ай бұрын
Thanks Stas, as a new Brompton owner, I'm really hooked on your channel. I think that the improved grips will be my 1st upgrade along with the EZ clamp spring.
@staskucherenkoАй бұрын
Thanks a lot, Allan, glad you like the videos :) Great choice btw, I think the grips are probably the biggest quality-of-life improvement from all the items, and EZ clamp is a small thing, but makes the folding process significantly less annoying :) I would probably place saddle in the 3rd place, but depends on whether you’ve got Brompton saddle as a default (which I heard to be quite good), or the one from Fizik (which I got and didn’t like it at all).
