I wish I could Lance, the build was completed a long time ago so I don't remember what they are, and the truck is stored about 7 hours from my current home base so can't simply measure them for you either. Sorry about that! Any quality fab shop or even some upholstery shops are skilled in these kinds of builds so if they out hands on your truck you'd likely get an even better end product!

Thank you for the kind words! Seriously enjoyed the time building and exploring in the Hummer. It's down for repairs right now and I am looking at something significantly newer for my next build, but every time I look at the Hummer I remember how much I love it, just has become increasingly expensive to maintain and not very trustworthy on long trips!

@@TonyMaples I've been a big fan of how the Mercedes looks, I'm sure you've seen it at some point, google: "mercedes sprinter offroad camper", quite expensive compared to a used pickup or SUV like the Hummer, but fits a toilet/shower, bed space and small kitchen so you could live in it on shorter trips. Like don't get me wrong, I love pickups a lot, but it's just not comparable space wise to a van, which is only toppled by pulled trailer camper, which just creates a hassle parking and travelling in general, so a van just ends up being the best of both worlds.
@TonyMaples
@TonyMaples 18 күн бұрын
For livability you can't beat a van conversion! But then due to the size and wheelbase you sacrifice off-road abilities, there's a lot of places I've been in the last year in a tiny Wrangler that the Hummer never could have gotten to, much less a van! Again depends on the use case, a Van or even a small RV is perfect for the majority of use cases, but I do appreciate getting to some hard to reach spots on old jeep and ATV trails 🙌🏼

That looks great! I have some Moto Metal wheels that were recalled years ago (I just found out) and KMC is one of the brands I can select from as a replacement. What offset are your wheels? I see either 0mm or +18mm, but I have no idea what to choose!

It’s literally far to easy to bypass these security features, a friend told me the other day he hacked into a Porsche gt4 r/s through the can bus system via the tyre pressure sensor while he wasn’t even inside the car

Hi Tony, thank you for this video. Thanks to your explanation, I saw how I could renew the brakes on my car and felt confident that I could do it myself. However, I had difficulty disengaging the electronic parking brake. I kept getting the message "does not meet system requirements". I started the car and put it in neutral and turned off the parking brake. Shutting down the engine and then following the procedure you described worked. My GLA 45 is a European model from 2017. Maybe that one thing is a little different? Anyway, thanks to your video I was able to do everything myself today. thank you!

I wish I had an answer for you, but I have no idea if they actually sit lower, it feels very similar to me so if they do it's not significant. You should be able to get a more accurate answer directly from Tillett or send Greg's Race Parts a message as well! Best of luck 🤙🏼

I will absolutely let you know, I believe there is still a set for sale locally I may pick up. The car has been parked for the past year and a half, needed a clutch and I took a job working remotely in the desert near Big Bend National Park, but back to city life and just pulled the transmission yesterday to put in a new clutch, so getting back into things. I will let you know if I pick up that other set when I'm back in town the first of the month 🤙🏼

Is the bypass not enough ? Do you really have to disconnect the other stuff ?
@TonyMaples
@TonyMaples 5 ай бұрын
Sure thing! The bypass will work on its own, but for me personally I don't need/want the fob or alarm system. Much more peace of mind knowing it will always start and the alarm will never randomly go off, had tons of issues with a previous Elise and so I elected to remove all of it

I agree Peak Design doesn’t get enough love. Any recs for shooting on iPhone?
@TonyMaples
@TonyMaples 7 ай бұрын
I don't have any riveting recommendations that you could not find explained in better detail elsewhere, but as far as phones go there are some basics that will help! First, enable the grid lines in the Camera settings to aid in composing shots using the rule of thirds, leading to more balanced and interesting images. Take advantage of natural light whenever possible, aiming for golden hour-the first hour after sunrise or the last before sunset-for soft, warm lighting. Use the iPhone's Portrait mode to create a shallow depth of field for portraits, making the subject stand out from the background. Experiment with different perspectives and angles to make ordinary subjects look more captivating. Additionally, avoid using the digital zoom, as it can degrade image quality; instead, move closer to your subject if possible. Finally, utilize the editing tools and third-party apps to adjust exposure, contrast, and saturation to enhance your photos, just don't over do it! Lightroom Mobile is fantastic!

For the rear brake pad replacement, can’t you just disengage the electronic handbrake having the key ignition to ‘ON’? Instead of doing the menu steps inside the car?

Finished the build quite some time ago and then got on the road for about 6 months last year traveling teaching photography all across the west. Got so busy I never could make another video on it. It's down for repairs now but as soon as it's back on the road I do have on my agenda to actually make a finished video! I also have some highlights on my IG @tonymaplesphotography that show it off in a bit more detail with it finished up. There's also some other highlights on there that show some of the crazy situations we got into in it!

This video is money in the bank. In 2020 MB charged me $1,300 USD for front pads and rotors. Bought pads from MB online for $266.62, which included tax and $19 for shipping. (Was going to buy them at the dealer here in town but at the counter the prices was $368. Did the pad install this past weekend. I don't agree with kingsalami142 regarding surfacing or new rotors with new pads if the new pads are the same as the old ones. Definitely agree with the bedding in. Thanks for this well done video.
