Just want to say I've been in Cyprus many times and have lots of Cypriot friends. For me this is the best Cyprus dish of them all. Thank you Stavros for showing me how to cook this beautiful food love it 😋

Hi I hope you are well. I'm half English Cypriot and my father used to make the κουπέπια. I lost my father 4 years ago and I now want to have a go ( I should have watched him in hindsight) but is there any preparation I need to do with the leaves before I use them. Thanks 🇨🇾

It looks very nice. I will have to try this recipe. I use my grandmother receipe and make mine the same way. The only difference, I don't use any tomatoes, I cook bottom layer with mince meat, lots of fried onions and spiced with lots of mint and also a little cinnamon. And the upper layer is macaroni with the bechemelle sauce and helloumi. Very good video. Well done 👍

Is the original recipe. In Poland we use Kamis seasoning Salt, sweet paprika, garlic, chili - 6.5%, sun-dried tomatoes, coriander, cumin, sugar, oregano, onion, flavors, thyme, black pepper, acid: citric acid; smoke flavor.

My niece just got back from a trip overseas including Cyprus with her family. As they were away for her 13th birthday, I wanted to make her something special from her trip as a surprise. My kitchen is filled with the most beautiful smells. My favourite part of your recipe and video was the authenticity especially in using glasses to ensure-just like our Australian grandmother who was such a good cook. Is there something I should serve with it tomorrow such as cream or thick yogurt or is it eaten on its own? Thank you again from Australia.

THE REAL, THE ORIGINAL STIFADO, IS MADE IN GREECE WITH HARE or RABBIT, BUT OF COURCE YOU CAN MAKE IT WITH OTHER KIND OF MEAT, LIKE BEEF, CHICKEN, OR EVEN PORK,....SOME GIAGIAS (GRANDMOTHERS) CAN PUT ALSO A 1-2 LAUREL LEAFS, AND A STICK OF CINNAMON.....ANYWAY, WITH ALL WAYS, YOU WILL ENJOY A GREAT MEAL.!!!
