Gram wasn't in Burritos when they recorded this live. Can't 'Home On The Road' or 'Brujo' albums anywhere on you tube. WTF ? Whose Mike Ward? I know Michael Ward...........

I'm told it appeared on an album of Gram Parsons covers; "The Last Whippoorwill - the Gram Parsons Notebook"

CAN YOU DO A TUTORIAL FOR THIS PLEASE
@jonnyDmay7 жыл бұрын
Hi Luna. Probably not :-) just insufficient time. Part of the sound here is that my uke is a tenor and has the uppermost string (the 'my' in 'my dog has fleas') tuned an octave lower than usual. So it's the deepest of all the notes played. It's more like a guitar sound than a typical uke.
@schnedds32844 жыл бұрын
@@jonnyDmay What is the fingerpicking pattern you use? And does it remain the same through the whole song?
@jonnyDmay4 жыл бұрын
@@schnedds3284 Hi James - I 'picked' it out from a Happy Traum guitar book ... 40? years ago. Google 'Travis style picking' and there are plenty of lessons, but of course they are on 6-string guitars so had to adapt to 4 strings. The thumb keeps up a regular pattern alternating between open strings 2 and 1 (I'm calling the uppermost string '1'. (My uke is a tenor with a low G string so is the deepest note - it will sound too 'plinky' on a smaller uke). Practise a regular 2-1 2-1 2-1 2-1 using your thumb on those 2 strings. I'll come back with a fingering diagram.
@jonnyDmay4 жыл бұрын
@@schnedds3284 Oh and the pattern does change a little through the song. Some due to my inability to keep it regular! And I drew up chord diagrams and now realise I can't upload a jpg... will have to add to the video :p
@schnedds32844 жыл бұрын
@@jonnyDmay Thank you so much for the response! I really appreciate it, I've been looking around for tabs to Dear Prudence for a while but with no luck. It just so happens that my ukulele is set up with a low G so that shouldn't be a problem. I look forward to begin practicing, it's one of my favourites.

NIce demo there Jon, I'm a working guitar player in a classic rock covers band here in Brisbane, who wanted to get into keyboards as a second instrument and I had been watching a few videos searching for a good all-round keyboard, after watching this video of yours (about a year ago now), I went out and bought the Nord Electro 5D and it's amazing!

+MrMuso1563 - just an improv over some Georgiaesque chords. Note the tentative hand-twitching at the start while brain-gears slowly engage 😃. But yes, Ray Charles is an influence. At 2:10 is the intro to Bloody Well Right by Supertramp. I currently have the SW4. The 5 came out just 6 months after purchase 😬. It looks to have some great improvements
