Cool! A similar number of years ago a local school was selling a Wurlie for $300. Groceries for my young family were more important then and so I had to pass. A tremoloed Wurlie is one of those staple sound and the Nords do a great job without the weight and upkeep of the real thing, but I'm sure there are concessions.

I used to have a Wurlitzer piano, about 25 years ago. Bought it for almost nothing, sold it for even less. It sounded great... have the Nord Modular G2, but I have been pondering about the Electro for a long time.

I cut my head off so that my startling good looks would not detract from the keyboard! :-D

NIce demo there Jon, I'm a working guitar player in a classic rock covers band here in Brisbane, who wanted to get into keyboards as a second instrument and I had been watching a few videos searching for a good all-round keyboard, after watching this video of yours (about a year ago now), I went out and bought the Nord Electro 5D and it's amazing!
@jonnyDmay7 жыл бұрын
Cheers Stewart. I'm up north of you in Mt Coolum. Good call on the 5D. Nord build quality is top notch and the sounds suit classic rock perfectly.

I think with this video alone, you could've sold a hundred.

Aw thanks Kas. I know a lot of 'bits' of songs. Must learn the whole thing one day :D

Awesome playing. I currently have an electro 2 and if money happens might step up to a stage 2.

Why thank you Sir :) After I sold this board I now have the Electro 4. Noticeably better sounds than the ver 2 as you'd expect.

Thanks Florent - we must be of a similar age :-D The Nords really targeted the 70's which were a golden age for keyboards.

The electro 2 is really warm and sounds great. that makes me keep it. Coz all added features on the newer models are reall cheesy, i dont need it.

What's the intro song with Rhodes sound? Sounds a bit like Ray Charles. Also what the Wurlitzer song you play at 2:10? Thanks great playing btw, I have a Nord E5 HP on order....can't wait.
@jonnyDmay9 жыл бұрын
+MrMuso1563 - just an improv over some Georgiaesque chords. Note the tentative hand-twitching at the start while brain-gears slowly engage 😃. But yes, Ray Charles is an influence. At 2:10 is the intro to Bloody Well Right by Supertramp. I currently have the SW4. The 5 came out just 6 months after purchase 😬. It looks to have some great improvements

Hi Jon,i remember that you have sold your NE2 and i also have bought one. I want to ask to you an appropriate headphones model to listen much well its sounds,expecially those of Hammond sound,because NE2 is my last organ clone, after others,because i never listen those sounds as on KZbin.
@jonnyDmay10 жыл бұрын
Hi Max - Any good headphones will be suitable. Use the same ones that you would choose to listen to music. It's nice to hear the stereo effect from the Leslie simulator in headphones.

What is the song at 9:15,please? It sounds a bit like early Genesis.
@jonnyDmay8 жыл бұрын
The intro to Joe Cocker's version of "A Little Help From My Friends".

Did you play any particular song with those chords at 5:54? It sounds familiar.
@jonnyDmay6 жыл бұрын
Oliver Tschernij yes it's part of what I was playing in the lead-up to those chords; from a tune by Lee Ritenour. I don't remember the name or album - sorry.

Hi,in your demonstration,is the Nord Electro connected to a Leslie o without it,for the Hammond sounds?
@jonnyDmay11 жыл бұрын
Hi Max - No real external Leslie, just the internal Leslie simulator.

Propertyshoot Photography & Video You have what both my son, a 24 yr old guitarist, and I suffer from---"music 'ADD" ..haahaa! ... When were listening to our vast Mp3 collections, we both start a cut, then skip past the 'duds' as were playing them for each other, to hear "The Better One" ...LOL
@Seymour557510 жыл бұрын
can you plug in an ipod and play along with the songs.
@Propertyshoot10 жыл бұрын
Not with this model. Both the Electro 3 and Electro 4 have a 3.5mm input jack for connecting external music players. The mix (your playing + music) is sent to the headphone jack, so you'll only hear the mix through headphones, or other speakers if connected to the headphone jack.

Sin sin sinner More so the 70's! :D My early influences were Deep Purple in Rock 1970, Led Zeppelin II 1969, Tom Petty's Breakdown 1976, Bloody Well Right 1974, Tin Soldier 1968 ... I had to look those years up. Amazing how much longer ago they came out than we remember.
