Never Forget. A nostalgic memory with my family. Walked into Toys R Us, Halo 3 pre-ordered and ready to go. Went back home, the same sequence we all went through. Couldn't leave the house What a time

I "mostly" remember where I was that day. I got so drunk on Jagermeister that my buddy had to help me with my midnight purchase and then I puked on the way home and fell asleep before I got to play T.T

Bro, i have no idea how i stumbled across this video... but it brought a tear to my eye... I was there with you bro! My xbox got the 3 rings of death the moment i put Halo 3 in. I was the happiest and saddest kid, all in one night... I drank my whole 12 pack of Game Fuel that night in a fit of forlorn rage haha at least I had my mini chief and Helmet to look at. Kid's will never know how truly awesome the glory days of gaming were. System link 4 Life!!

I recall going to the midnight launch… on the way there we got into a car accident. After we dealt with the accident, we went ahead and picked up our copies, then went back to a friends place since he had an awesome TV and sound system… agonisingly, he made us wait while he tuned his surround sound to the point where we wanted to flatten him. When he finally put the disc in, he was hit with the Red Ring of Death. It didn’t stop us finishing the fight, but the universe was against us that night 😂

Man, I was in on the ass end of this. Played Halo: Reach in eighth grade, went to the midnight launch of MW3, played the SWTOR beta etc. etc. It's just surreal for me to have been old enough to have been a squeaker for peak Halo and young enough to be the target audience for peak Overwatch and Fortnite. I keep coming back this era because it truly was the best era for gaming and gaming culture.

oh man what a nostalgia trip, midnight releases were something else, all the cool people you'd meet in line, swap tags and play some pvp together, made some great friends that way. miss shit like this, now half these AAA games that come out aren't even finished and are just shit entirely. fuckin shame, glad I got to experience this though, I'll never forget it.
