It was entirely from their own mistakes bad decisions and disrespect to the community. So many people still speak of roosterteeth in a good light because they watched them as kids during the "golden era" but in reality they went on a never ending downwards slope from 2016.

Exactly! So many games released back then had 50+ people waiting outside the doors to grab a copy. And the online community was so much fun too, with everyone cracking jokes and shooting the shit. I remember the launch at GameStop. At one point a car slowly rolled by and a passenger yelled “Call of Duty’s better!!” And then later on it happened again and some random dude chucked his large soda at the car and it splattered right near the mirror and part of it went in the guys car and he took off while we all erupted in laughter. One guy was grilling hotdogs for everyone while others were playing soccer in a nearby parking lot. Looking back it really was surreal.

@DPH_Psychosis as a huge TES fan for over 20 years I still have a glimpse of hope. They must not mess it up or they are finished, nobody really cares about Starfield, and when you play it, it even feels like Bethesda didn't care. They sould really focus on TES and Fallout. It's crazy that a lot of our ideas actually ended up being in the later games like the H4 grenades or cortana being evil. I'm going to chime in on this one. I'm probably older than a lot of the folks in the comments section, but I was 25 years old back when this game came out. Now I'm 40 and I can agree that this time period was a magical time for gaming. I remember gaming with my best friend who put me on to Halo originally with Halo 2. He and I used to go to all the midnight releases together and play like every day....Id get that text from him around 930 at night "hey fool, get online" and wed play til 2 am. I'd kill for that text now...he sadly passed away from cancer 2 years ago but man this video took me back to some good times. Thanks for posting this 15 years ago. What a great video!

I will go to the grave with my halo 3 all nighters, energy drinks, pizza, ice cream, weed, partying up, anger, excitement, let downs, trash talking. Now I'm married and playing mindcraft and halo mcc every night minus weed, energy drinks, anger, trash talking. Nothing will beat the first time around but my wife sharing her first time around almost bring me back to the good old days of halo and that's enough to make me happy. I’ve been gaming since the 90s and been a day 1 player since the beginning of Halo. I was 15 years old when Halo 3 released I can’t believe how old we’re getting! 😂 I’ve also seen COD since the beginning and while it used to have its glory days during the COD4 MW era nothing will ever compare to Halo 2 and Halo 3 days. Finding glitches, skulls, super jumps, port forwarding matches, bridging, I could go on for hours.

I was pretty broke at the time of the release. All my money went toward paying bills. I couldn't even afford an Xbox 360 yet. My old bud got this at the release, me and other friends were sitting out in his driveway waiting for him to come back with the game. Seeing him drive up to us while waving the game out the window is truly an unforgettable memory for me. We were all so excited and happy, just as happy as if we bought the game ourselves. ❤

Gaming just isn't what it was back then. We don't have moments like these anymore... No midnight launches, no going to the store and collecting YOUR copy. Sure, what we have is way more convenient to some degree, but I'd rather sacrifice convenience for moments like these.

Aussie here, i remember all my best mates stayed over that night and we went to the midnight launch, our parents collectively allowed us to do so even though we had school the next day (we didnt have to go) we stayed up until 3pm the next day, clocked the game on legendary 4 player coop on this little tv screen. I miss them days. I dont talk to two of them any more but that memory will forever be solidified in my mind... Just a group of young lads who were brought together by this amazing game and moment in time.

MarfeeWarfee Halo games always managed to delivery some varied and odd multiplayer moments. Something that cod seems to miss. Such as driving around the warthog with your friends, ending with your driving over those Jump items, and you and your team flying up and landing on an enemy.

I remember being 9 years old on Christmas morning getting an Xbox 360 Guitar Hero 2 and Halo 3 along with 3 halo figures from McFarlane toys. And I remember beating the game and crying because SGT Johnson died. This game single handedly created the best memories a kid could have, playing split screen with my cousins and having lan parties within one household, staying up till the early hours of the morning and just loving life. I should had never said I wanted to grow up.

I attended two midnight releases Halo 3 and COD MW2. My local gamestop had a 1v1 tourney with the winner winning a copy of the game for free with a line of of competitors that weaved inbetween the isles of an adjacent Blockbusters. Sadly I came in 2nd but man was it fun. I remember the ride home after picking up halo and examing the case over and over with that new game smell.

Halo 2/3 are the best games ever made and I will debate this to the end of my days. I loved Warzone 2020 during Covid but the amount of hype and excitement you got from picking up a Xbox case with the game in it, you felt like you were the Master Chief.
