I'm not sure if you knew this or not, but this isn't really a new product. They used to sell these back in the 80's and they are starting to sell them again!

I got a pre-built Bottlehead Crack, along with a Klipsch HP-3, from a lady just trying to get rid of her late uncle's stuff for only $100 earlier this month. What a gift! This combo is a match made in heaven! I will honor the old guy who owned this amazing stuff for as long as I am blessed to have it!

what about using it as a dac only with the atom amp ? does it sound significantly better than with k11 r2r internal amp as they say in other review or is it an exaggeration ?

spot on : there are minimal differences that can only be heard while doing focused a/b testing a few seconds apart but we are not able to tell them apart in casual listening if you heard one for a day and the other one a few days later

I'm trying the R9 and R10 this weekend. I also love my stock Sundara Closed but love it even more with Brainwavz fenestrated round pads. I modded mt T60RP while a/b comparing with a T50 Argon by altering the foam ring around the driver directly under the pads. I also added Brainwavz hybrid angled pads (the Argon pads were too dampening of the clarity for me). These are very good closed-back cans for under $500. My favorite closed back headphones between $500 and $1k are my LSA HP2 Ultra, DCA Aeon2 Noire and Denon D7200. Best in my collection are my Sony Z1R, Focal Radiance. Love your videos. Thanks!

It's easy to be fooled with op-amps if (and when) they have different gains. Louder always sounds better in comparison.

They are pretty nice, but there's no way they are TWS. TWS usually means left and right piece both have battery and connected wirelessly. But here left piece is connected via headband, that's the reason the band was split into two.

I don't know if you still have the unit to compare, but when I use OUT LO, the volume is stuck at 99 no matter what I do, am I missing something? OUT PRE and OUT PO works fine.

I tried these out after hearing them at Axpona. In my system, I agree that I thought they were dull with a little midrange bloom that I didn't find overly pleasing. The Elac are much better.

I have both Grado and Sennheiser headphones and love both. I think Grado headphones have their strength in communication over technical prowess. They are explicit more than resolving or refined, much in the way a live performance difers from a recorded event. Either approach is valid. For me, the Sennheisers do not lose composure when presented with a busy mix, and this gives them the edge. What a great time in audio when you have so many options within the budget sector.

They are literally fantastic iem' s and although I own Letshuoer s15 also, which sound more DDish and maybe a little bit more detailed, I find myself constantly loving to use mp145 pretty daily.

I've invested thousands in headphones and the truth is that at this price you can't get anything better than these for the purpose they were made for. Forgetting the versatility of these headphones. I understand that if you don't own an iPhone, you definitely don't want to buy these. I think you'll miss out on a lot if you know how to appreciate this kind of electronics.

If you do the hearing test and use it with media and you use the surround profile with pictures of your ears, it kinda amazing with movies.. but then again…..

Great video! I also really enjoyed the combination of features and SQ but the non cylindrical shape of the tips caused problems for me (they kept working their way out of my ears). So I’m using an Audeze Maxwell for my wireless convenience listening at home and inexpensive wired IEMs out of the house which isn’t ideal. 100% agreed that no TWS solution I’ve heard is a replacement for “audiophile” critical listening.

The pro 2s are still some of the more neutral sounding earbuds on the market. A surprising amount of “high end” brands like bowers and Wilkins make SUPER bass heavy wireless earbuds, who are they targeting? Certainly not audiophiles.

True wireless earbuds are literally just e-waste. Outside of a few use cases, there is no reason to opt for them over wired earbuds--they are just trendy. Wired IEMs have some inconveniences like requiring a cable, but TW need to be charged very often if you use them regularly. Plus their batteries are so small that they quickly deteriorate and will not hold a charge well after like a year of regular use. Apple created a problem and suckered people into buying the "solution". They make massive amounts of money off of Air Pods after removing the headphone port.

I use these all the time for phone calls and to listen in noise cancelling modes which hugely helps on the go in the gym and in the downtown area of the city I live in. They are incredible, but when I listen to music I always choose my in ear monitors and headphones/amps/dacs and 2 channel system. I'm a long time Apple user and this particular product is one of Apple's best.

I've got it and it sounds amazing both with Meze 109 Pro and Hifiman Arya Organic. It warm and very musical, with very good detail retreival. I'm trying Hifiman Serenade these days and i have to say that this Fiio does an outstanding job! It's close, very close to the sound of the Serenade, with just a little less detail. I would say it's 90% of what the Serenade can offer, but at 15% of the price.

J'ai récemment acheté des Hidizs MP145, renvoyés après 2 semaines, problèmes boucles de masse localisée à la prise jack et bruit de fond incessant (bourdonnements), aucun dispositif n'a fonctionné pour la boucle de masse la seule manière de la contrée c'était de faire masse avec mon propre corps en contact avec ma peau sans altérer le son... , de plus les buses sont grosses et les écouteurs ne sont pas très confortables, J'ai finalement opté pour les FiiO FH3 moins chers, plus équilibrés, avec cables plus haut de gamme et SURTOUT beaucoup plus confortables et sans bruits de fond, pourtant ils ont une impédance inférieure et une plus grande sensibilité aux Hidizs MP145. Les FiiO FH3 à 129€ sont incroyablement confortables et font aussi bien voir même mieux que les écouteurs à 250€. Les Ikko oh10 sont aussi géniaux mais pas très confortables...

I have a V like to hear a crack. darkvoice ect but i know I would spend too much on tubes like i already have i the single power tube can run from50-1400 dollar's while the V's top out at around 100 for a pair i'm sure that makes a difference

7:30 also having 2x ZA3s in mono you could also run stereo subs Left and right out of each monoes ZA3.. as long as the subs have the crossover.

Yeah, the Rohm is definitely the more rolled off at mellow DAC by far. There is FR and graphs to show this. Plus there is listening samples that show how clearly more mellow it is, it's very very clearly more mellow, like by double. If you can't get that right, which every other reviewer has said the same thing because it is so warm and chill. And the fact I own it as well. I can't take you seriously with any other sound impresion.

Some call them uncomfortable or strange but I love how they look and what is most important how they sound.
