s there anyway to change the relay for the heater. I had a technician out and he said the relay is sticking. The top control panel is calling for heat but the control pack is not consistently turning the heater on. He only offered an entire new top control and new control pack. Is it possible to change a relay on a MAS560 balboa control pack Thank you

I have no errors heat light is on but its not heating. I changed the element but now i have no voltage when i test element? What could make me lose voltage now? Everything else is good like continuity and ohms and i have voltage coming in to the spa just not at the terminals?

Thank you for your help after testing OHM at 0 and having no continuity I drained the tub put in another element and heated right up. Cant believe a brand new element was bade

I have a hot tub that is not heating up. I was originally having issues with the gfi breaker tripping. I pulled the gfi and it would not reset so I replaced the gfi. After replacing that the hot tub heated to 95 degrees in 5-6 hours and than tripped the breaker. I let it cool to 80 degrees and restarted and the hot tub heated back to 95 and tripped the breaker. I unhooked the heater and ran the hot tub for 3 days with no issues. So I pulled the heater element and replaced it. I cannot get the hot tub to heat. It has been 3 days and it’s at 54 degrees. I have 240 volts coming in, 120 white to red and 120 white to black. At the heater with breaker on I have 240 volt and 17.5 amps (should be higher because I purchased a 5.5 kw element). I than turned the breaker off and I get a 0 ohm reading and no beep for continuity when the breaker is off. Any idea what the issue could be? Thank you Jay

On the initial start up, do you need to add water into the filter? Also do you rub the system on backwash first thing to clear up out any dust and help the sand clean up?

your first meter was a clamp meter. Is there a reason you are recommending an inline Amp test vs. a clamp meter test.

Hello, I have a coast spa swim spa that has a balboa spa pack bp2000g1 top Control reads out sensors out of sync. Tried resetting, unplugging the sensors then turning on power then turning off repluggin the sensors and powering back up. Still the same thing. Then tried plugging in brand new sensors in a cup of water nothing changed. Because of the issue it is not heating up at all

No reason to winterize if it doesn’t freeze where you live.

Your video is really great. Easy to understand and you seem very knowledgeable. Here is my issue. I installed two pumps, both of them 2nd hand/ not new. I have a brand new Balboa VS Series spa pack with heater. Both pumps are two speed. Pump 1 is operating/wired as a 2 speed. Auxiliary pump is wired as a single speed. Pumps will run less than 30 minutes and then both get hot to the touch and shut off.

Would’ve hard piped that.

Just did seals and bearings on an aqua flow. 12/4.4 amps. Drawing 4.7 amps low and 14.4 on high speed. Is this a problem? The balboa cover states pump 1 12 amps so I’m wondering if the 14.4 will damage the circuitry. Not just inrush.. holds around 14.4.

You mention you don't like automatic chlorinators. What is your preferred method of using pucks or whatever sanitizer you might suggest. I place pucks directly into the skimmers. I bought stainless instant pot steamer baskets that fit perfectly in the skimmers. They are more durable than the plastic skimmer baskets which suffer from high chlorine levels when the pump isn't running.

People spend thousands of dollars to get one of these and they come with cheapest plastic hoses they could find 😂 I’m thinking of getting a non-working or leaky one off marketplace for cheap and try to fix it

Good, to the point video. 😉 I'm curious about an issue with my pump and wonder if you can relate to my situation. Pump stopped working and when I opened it up I saw the black wire had shorted on the control board. Keep in mind it's an old super pump 1hp kinda like this one. Got a new board but the connectors are in another position. My original one has black on L2, White on L1 and that little "jumper" is set on A and L1....arrow facing 115. The A on the new one is reversed in a way that I can't connect the "jumper" because it's on the L2 side and on the edge.🙄 I was thinking of ignoring L1 and L2 markings and reverse the symbols so that the A connector is near the "new" L1. As long as I follow the rear connections (purple, blue, white) accordingly I'm thinking it would be acceptable. Any input would help my blood pressure immensely. 🤭

I found one that had heater element was tracing electricity from dirt on top on heater connector cleaned the connections off and worked like a charm. Heater was good and didn't need to be replaced. The connection on the left side of that heater looks dirty, water tracks??

Well, done, straight to the point another fellow Canadian here, I perform similar steps. I had trouble with my duck plugs. The yellow ice cover would randomly float out. It doesn’t lock in very well for me. This year, I’m trying the new Aqua group bungee blowout plug. Similar idea but this time the moving plug is captured so it can’t float out. Love that you actually showed the ultra gizzmo most people don’t even realize it has a blowout feature .

I have a 1” diverter valve that is leaking from the bottom side (not into the water, had to take panels off and remove foam to find it) it’s the style where there is 2 1/4” holes (nipples?) on either side right where the retaining nut screws it tight against the shell. What would cause this? One of the holes is a steady sale drip coming out of it. These nipples are a cross from eachother pointing downward.

My hot tub is not heating. Im getting 240v coming into the spa pack and 0v at the terminals leaving the spa pack for the heater with the heater turned on from the control panel. Filtration pump activates just fine when the heat is turned on and reads 240v at the spa pack terminals but heater terminals read 0 and heater does not turn on.

Easy fix. Install a cartridge filter instead. There is nothing good about sand filters.

How important is getting the main drain cleared out? my Shop Vac is not powerful enough to blow air through. I have in the past stuffed foam rod into the 2nd pipe in the skimmer (which I assume goes to the main drain) and capped it. The other line to the pump gets blown out without issue and gizmo installed. Ive been closing my own pool for 10 years now and no issues. Maybe Im just lucky? My returns are also quite low in my liner pool, Ive never felt comfortable lowering the water level below the jets for some reason. Is there a safe/recommended distance to lower the water in a liner pool? Thank you
